Troy Baker - voice actor for Joel in The Last Of Us - says the game’s recent leaks don’t actually matter.

In an Instagram livestream, Baker responded to a fan’s comment that they’re feeling bummed about the fact that the upcoming sequel to The Last Of Us was leaked last month. The fan asks for tips on how to deal with such a momentous game getting spoiled.

Baker responds simply with: “Oh dude…it doesn’t matter.”

He says that given Naughty Dog’s 30-year-long track record of success in creating award-winning blockbuster games, we should trust that the game will still hit us with one hell of an experience despite the leaks.

“[Naughty Dog has] more established pedigree than any other studio I could possibly think of,” Baker says. And with Part II being “the most biggest, ambitious game they’ve ever done,” he’s convinced that the disappointment around the leaks will be eclipsed by the impact of actually playing the game yourself.

“You really think that that experience…that six years of development…could be undone by a couple screenshots?”

Of course, we still have to be like “Sure, but it was more than just a couple screenshots. It was the literal entire dang game.” Presumably a lot of fans unlucky enough to have stumbled upon any major spoilers might disagree with our boy Troy.

The game will release on 19th June 2020, so we’ll get to see for ourselves soon enough.
