Johnny Cage Shines In Clip From New Mortal Kombat Movie

We get a peek at Johnny Cage in the latest Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge trailer. And yes, he’s still a prick.

Scorpion’s Revenge comes out on April 14. Starring Joel McHale as Johnny Cage, Jordan Rodrigues as Liu Kang, Jennifer Carpenter as Sonya Blade, and David B. Mitchell as Raiden, the film is essentially a retelling of the classic Mortal Kombat story, although it more closely follows the plot of Mortal Kombat 9 than the original 1997 film.

While the movie focuses a bit more on Scorpion and his revenge against Sub Zero (hence the title), there’s still plenty of scenes featuring the original defenders of Earthrealm. And one of those is the martial arts superstar, Johnny Cage.

In the latest clip from IGN, we get to see how Johnny Cage handles introductions with counterparts Sonya Blade and Liu Kang. As you’d expect, it didn’t exactly go great, but Cage doesn’t seem to care either way.

The clip doesn’t really have a lot of action in it, but you can take a look at some earlier trailers to see some of the extreme violence that this animated feature film will contain. Spoiler alert: there’s a lot of blood.
