Though the sequel to Kane and Lynch was officially announced just yesterday, new details on Kane and Lynch 2 have already surfaced.
Thanks to some searching by Kotaku, it has now been revealed that the sequel will put users inside the head of the insane madman Lynch this time, and the game will start off in Shanghai, where Lynch is attempting to score a deal which will have a huge payout, and “nothing will stand in his way”.
Supposedly, Square Enix chose the Shanghai location because of the unique, seedy setting it will present the characters:
The competitive online gameplay will be making a much-expected return (Fragile Alliance was one of the key hits from the original) and the new reiteration will also feature online co-op this time, which is a growing must-have in several games.
“[It’s a] perfect playground for expert criminals such as [himself]; seduction and corruption highlight the contrasts of the city as players fight through the seedy underbelly of Shanghai — a juxtaposition of old-world and new-world ideals ripe with black market opportunities for Kane and Lynch to exploit and reap rewards from.”
Additionally, if a player is shot down during gameplay, they can shoot from their prone position or attempt to crawl to safety, with the possible chance of surviving to continue the fight (a la bleed-out in Gears of War, or the ‘down-but-not-out’ Call of Duty aspect).
