KFC Philippines has an actual, honest to goodness restaurant open now in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

We’ve seen some pretty amazing custom islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but none of them had corporate backing. This is what happens when a company like KFC devotes resources to something as silly as New Horizons.

So what have we here? An actual, functioning KFC restaurant built in Animal Crossing.

As you’d expect from any corporation, this is all an elaborate marketing ploy. KFC is not just inviting Animal Crossing fans to enjoy their digital restaurant, but also using New Horizons to peddle real-life fried chicken.

But can we first appreciate the work that KFC has done? Their restaurant uses all in-game items to recreate the look and feel of KFC in New Horizons. You’ve got restaurant-style booths, a counter with a cashier laptop (how modern), microwave, and an espresso machine (apparently KFCs are a lot more upscale in the Philippines). Everything is covered in custom KFC designs, from the counters to the menu wall.

And of course, there’s a Colonel walking around.

That’s actually part of the deal. Spot the Colonel inside the KFC restaurant and he’ll give you a code for a free bucket of KFC chicken. Just take a screenshot and sent it to the KFC Philippines Facebook page using the hashtag #KFCVirtualStore.

Naturally, this deal is only open to residents of the Philippines. They love their fried chicken in Southeast Asia, and they also love Animal Crossing, so this is really a match made in poultry heaven.

Of course, it’s questionable how the avian residents of KFC Island might feel about the whole thing.

The KFC Philippine Facebook page will open up the store from June 17 to June 22 by posting invite codes online. It’s only open for a few hours per day, so act fast in order to get your coupon for free fried chicken.
