Kingdom Hearts 3 has a pretty wide berth of content, though some fans don’t seem to agree. Still, there’s a lot to like about this game such as the new combat systems, the upgraded Gummi Ship areas, or the Camera Mode in Sora’s new…uncomfortable looking smartphone. Now, we can pose Sora with anyone and anything! And, along with that camera comes Photo Missions and Lucky Emblems.

A lot of the Photo Missions straight up tell you what to do so some things are obvious, but there are still a few things we’d like to mention along with some tips that will help you find all the Lucky Emblems!

10 Make Sure You’re Not In Selfie Mode With Characters/Heartless

So, at first, it seems like the Photo Missions the Moogle Shopkeep gives Sora will all be based around taking pictures of the beautiful rendered new Heartless the game has. But, after the first two missions, it starts to be more about photographing the environment rather than the enemies. In any case, players should take pictures of the Heartless in normal camera mode as opposed to selfie mode. Those types of pictures have a tendency to not register as being good enough and people shouldn’t backtrack more than they have to.

9 Photo Missions Are Easier To Find After Beating The World

For photographing your Disney teammates, it’s recommended to do it immediately, but for the Photo Missions related to the World you’re in, just do it at the end. Most of the time it’s easier to get to the actual source of the Mission after the World’s been “beat” and sometimes the NPC (like Zeus) doesn’t even appear until it’s over. It’s a simple tip, but don’t waste your time stopping every five seconds to look around for a Waterfall or Forge, just have fun with the World, then search back after.

8 Take Multiple Pictures From Different Angles

With that in mind, it’s a good practice to take multiple pictures in this game. The Moogle tells you to snap a pic of a Flame Core? Take 3! One from afar, one during combat, and one more for good luck. That Moogle mention capturing a still of the waterfall in the Pirates of The Caribbean level? Take a picture up close, far away, at an angle, and from the top of a building. There isn’t an insane amount of bugs in KH3, but a lot of them seem to be tied towards the camera mode, so just play it safe.

7 Take Pictures Of Anything That Seems Important, It Probably Will Be

That said, if you want to go into the game blind but also want to save yourself some time, just take pictures of anything that seems important! There are tons of environmental details in every Disney World or lore-relevant environmental items, and it’s pretty clear what is an important structure and what isn’t.

For example, the statue of Hercules in the first level seems oddly more detailed than any other statue, so why not snap a picture of it?

6 Snap Pics Of Your Disney Team Early As Well

After that, it’s recommended every player takes a ton of pictures of each Disney crewmember as soon as they’re able. The most commonly seen bug in regards to the Photo Missions is the last one where you’re asked to take a picture of all your crew members. And, backtracking through each world (which we wish there were more of) to find a non-crab version of Jack Sparrow or a dancing Rapunzel is a bit frustrating. So, take one with them in selfie mode for you, then take 3-4 normal mode in preparation for this Photo Mission.

5 Use The Lucky Emblem Icon On Your Smartphone As A Guide

So many people missed this UI design element, but there’s a little icon that shows up in your smartphone overall if a Lucky Emblem is nearby. It’s not like a “finder” that beeps when you get closer to the emblem, but it does a decent enough job letting Sora know what square of the area he should be searching in. Especially since Goofy and Donald like to shout about Lucky Emblems when it is still ten miles away. It’s pretty obvious once you’ve snapped the picture if it registered or not, but keeping track of the yellow or red borders around the inner camera frame will save you a good couple minutes throughout the course of the game.

4 Don’t Rely On Donald And Goofy’s Shoutouts Too Much

The callouts for Goofy and especially Donald in this game are infuriating. Not at first, mind you, but over time. It’s helpful the first time Donald called out to Sora that this area might be good for finding ingredients. But after the 200th time, players find themselves wishing he would cast Zettaflare again, this time for real.

It’s the same with Lucky Emblems. When you get close your crew will call out that one is nearby, but it can hurt more than help. Why? Well because they’d call it out on one side of a building when the actual Emblem itself was on the backside of a building across the street.

3 Angles And Height Level Matter Sometimes

Like most picture-based collectibles in video games, there are a few examples where the Lucky Emblems play with perspective a bit. The most recent example of another game we can think of doing this is Spider-Man for the PS4. In it, there would be multiple missions where Spidey would be required to line up multiple buildings at a certain angle to get the full picture of a piece of graffiti or something. This happens in KH3 as well. Nothing to that scale, but we recommend players keep an eye below their feet and above them while they’re searching.

2 Keep Your Eyes Down Low And Up High

Along that same train of thought, it isn’t just where you look but from what height you’re looking from. There are a number of perspective based Lucky Emblems that won’t line up unless Sora’s at a specific height or angle when photographing them. The leaf-made one in the Toy Story world is a good example of this.

So, if you see what looks to be a Lucky Emblem on the ground, just hop onto a nearby object or something before you snap a pic and you should be fine.

1 There Are So Many Ways To Move Fast, But You Might Not Want To

And finally, this is just a general hint for collectibles in KH3. So, the movement in this game uses elements from multiple of the spin-off games like Dream Drop Distance and Birth By Sleep. Sora can now fly around with ease pretty quickly as opposed to needing to unlock Final Form like in KH2. Along with that, he can also run up walls, jump from object to object and interact with the terrain like never before. So, it’s easy to breeze through a level once you get a rhythm going. Blast through all the fights, but then check the room real quick before you move on.
