After over a decade of waiting, Kingdom Hearts 3 has finally launched, giving fans of the Disney/Final Fantasy crossover franchise the chance to experience a brand new adventure with Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Some Kingdom Hearts 3 enthusiasts may want an idea of about how long the game will take to beat so that they can plan their coming gaming sessions accordingly, and as it turns out, it should be slightly longer than the first two games in the series.

According to How Long to Beat, a website that aggregates how long it takes people to beat games, the average playtime for someone going through Kingdom Hearts 3 for the first time is about 30 hours. Previous games land somewhere between the 20-25 hour mark typically, so it seems Kingdom Hearts 3 is slightly longer than its predecessors.

30 hours is much lower than the previously reported 40-50 hours of gameplay for the main story. Previous reports also indicated that Kingdom Hearts 3 would take around 80 hours to fully complete, but a more accurate estimate seems to be 40-60 hours, depending on if players use guides and things of that nature.

Besides the main story, Kingdom Hearts 3 has plenty of side content to keep players busy. There are multiple difficulty settings to try, plus extra quests to complete, like taking a picture of all the Lucky Emblems hidden throughout the various game worlds.

Players can also collect and play mini-games on their Gummiphone through the Classic Kingdom app. By opening their Gummiphone through the pause menu and selecting Classic Kingdom, Kingdom Hearts 3 players can try their hand at a variety of Game and Watch-style mini-games based on classic Disney cartoons. It won’t hold one’s attention for too long, but it’s still more content to experience in the game nevertheless.

So while Kingdom Hearts 3 may not be quite as long as some reported prior to launch, the game does still have plenty of content to keep fans busy for quite awhile.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
