Kingdom Hearts is a beloved Japanese franchise that stars Square Enix designs paired up with Disney content. Following the adventures of Sora, the Keyblade wielder, he travels to different Disney worlds along with Donald and Goofy in order to fend off against the various forms of darkness.
Because these various Kingdom Hearts characters are fairly young, they are often relatable to players of an earlier age. However, some of the ages and heights of the characters are unknown. As such, with some speculation and possible ages from different sources, here are the birthdays, ages and possible heights of the main characters in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
Updated April 27th, 2022 by Jerrad Wyche: The announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV has fans eager with anticipation about what the next adventure for Sora will be. The series is home to plenty of beloved main characters, and a new trilogy could introduce more than a handful of new faces. Since the games exist inside of their own reality it’s hard to pin down specifics about pre-existing characters, but thankfully Disney and its fanbase keep a good record of them over the years.
10 Roxas
Physically, Roxas is the same age as Sora, approximately 15-16 years old. However, due to being a Nobody and having a very short life, he is actually around one to three years old. As his Nobody, Roxas is the same height as Sora as well, approximately 160 cm or 5'3". Within the context of the game, he is similar to the other characters in how his birthday is unknown.
9 Terra
Due to the circumstances of their adventures, the characters are older than they appear. Chronologically, Terra is in his 30s, while physically he is somewhere in his 20s. Either way, he is a fair bit older than the majority of the cast. In terms of height, the character is between 5'11 and six feet tall, which makes him much taller than everyone else. His exact birthday is unknown.
8 Ventus
As the youngest of the main characters in Birth By Sleep, Ventus was approximately 16 — the same approximate age as Sora during the events of Kingdom Hearts 3. Due to the time jump, he is chronologically 26 years old. He is around the same height as Sora as well, at 160 cm or 5'3.
Similar to his good friend Terra, this character doesn’t have a proper birthday. While the release of the game was on January 9, it is unknown as to what his canonical birthday is within the context of the story.
7 Aqua
The second oldest of the Birth By Sleep trio, Aqua is physically around 18 years old. However, her real age is somewhere in her late 20s, in terms of chronology. She is around 5'9 in height, and like her friends, doesn’t have a canonical birth date.
6 Mickey Mouse
Despite being one of the planet’s most recognizable characters, Mickey Mouse doesn’t have an official age on record. Disney has said that he is meant to resemble “an average young boy of no particular age.” He was created in 1928, so as of 2022 his age could technically be considered as around 93 years old.
While Mickey’s height isn’t officially known, the community has estimated it to be around 2'3", based on a photo of him standing next to the 5'10" Walt Disney. The first appearance of the famous mouse was in the animated short film Steamboat Willy, which was released on November 18, 1928. This date is considered by fans to be his birthday.
5 Donald
Donald Duck has been one of the most recognizable characters in the entire Disney lineup, ever since his first appearance in The Wise Little Hens in 1934. This would mean he is roughly 87 years old, with a birthday on June 9.
Despite this, the character has not aged a day, and has remained a pivotal part of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. His height has remained consistent as well. He’s roughly the same height as his Uncle Scrooge, who is possibly around three feet tall. That being said, this height is speculative, and it could vary.
4 Goofy
Goofy is the other main Disney character in the Kingdom Hearts franchise. He’s roughly two years older than his friend Donald, at 89. Compared to Sora and Donald Duck, he is a fair bit taller than them.
He could be around 5'10", although that’s a speculative figure. What isn’t speculative is how the character is meant to wear shoes that are around size 18 and a half. He could be considered to have a birthday of May 27, given his first appearance came as Dippy Dawg in Mickey’s Revue on that date.
3 Riku
Riku is one of Sora’s closest childhood friends. At roughly a year older, this would put Riku at approximately 16-17 years old. He’s a fair bit taller than his friend, and based on pixel data it’s speculated that he is around 5'10". However, what isn’t known for sure is his birthday. Alongside Sora’s birthday, this remains unknown in the canon timeline.
2 Kairi
Kairi is around the same age as both Sora and Riku, at approximately 15-16 years old. Based on the pixel data shown in Kingdom Hearts 3, she is about an inch shorter than Sora. This would likely make her around 5'1".
However, what remains speculative is her birthday. If, like Riku, her birthday was based on the game’s launch, then it would be the same as Sora’s. However, in terms of canon, her birthday remains unknown.
1 Sora
The main protagonist of the series, Sora started out his adventure as a young teenager. This would make him somewhere around 14 years old. However, due to the differences in time over the course of the series, he is actually more like 15-16 years old. Canonically, some interviews put his height at around 160 cm, or 5'2.
Series director Tetsuya Nomura stated in an interview that Sora’s birthday is March 28 — a date representative of the launch of Kingdom Hearts. There’s no official information within the game, and as a result, his birthday within the universe is unknown.
