If you’ve got a hankering for a big, nostalgic RPG to sink your teeth into, this announcement’s going to be music to your ears: A Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning remaster is coming to an Xbox One near you this August.
Nary a day goes by that a remaster, HD edition, remake or unexpected port isn’t announced. Releases like the Borderlands and BioShock Nintendo Switch ports always bring new fans into the franchise (many Nintendo fans have entirely missed out on both of these fantastic franchises until now), but double-dipping tendencies on the parts of gamers also prove very lucrative for publishers.
The fact is, when a game you used to love is remastered, it’s always super tempting to pick it up again - even if you saw everything it had to offer the first time around. Did you play the expansive action RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning back in 2012? Whether you did or you didn’t, a remaster is on the way, and it’s sure to be a tempting prospect too.
Kingdoms of Amalur revolves around the Fateless One, a mortal resurrected through magical means. With their future uncertain, they must leap into action in a war that threatens to tear the peoples of the Kingdoms of Amalur (see what they did there?) apart.
As Kingdoms of Amalur: The Re-Reckoning’s official Twitter account reports, this is going to be a definitive package:
The game launches for Xbox One on August 18.
