You might be dead bored at home, but Purrs In Heaven can bring you back to life later this week on the Nintendo Switch.
From Tarragona, Spain-based solo developer Pixel Bones Studios comes this pixelated puzzle platformer that places you at the paws of a permanently purloined pussycat. That is to say, in Purrs in Heaven, you play as a recently deceased cat that got run over by a car.
Whereas most black cats have nine lives to fall back on, you’ve apparently run out of them. The Great Yama gives you a choice: go through the Gate of Redemption to be reborn again on Earth, or fail and be swallowed by darkness. Not much of a choice, is it?
Purrs in Heaven features 30 levels filled with platforms, baddies, and an escape route. You can jump on enemies to remove them from the equation and you have the magical ability to create little kitty clouds. Using this ability returns you to a previous part of the level but it also allows you to proceed by jumping on your cloud.
There’s also some rhythm mini-games, hidden ships, unlockable challenges, and a difficult mode in case you find the puzzle-platforming to be too easy.
Purrs in Heaven arrives for the Nintendo Switch on April 17. Find it in the Nintendo eShop for $6.99 USD.
