Anyone interested in gaining behind-the-scenes knowledge of The Last of Us will be happy to know that the series will have its own official podcast in only two weeks. It will focus on the development of both The Last of Us Part 1, and The Last of Us Part 2 after it recaps the events of the first game.

The podcast’s host will be writer and comedian Christian Spicer, who announced the upcoming project on Twitter today. Neil Druckmann, the director of both The Last of Us games, retweeted Spicer and confirmed that the Naughty Dog team would be involved.

The official Last of Us podcast will premiere on June 9 on Apple.com but curious fans can listen to an audio teaser trailer via the link below. The podcast will likely appear on other platforms as well but there’s no confirmation of this at the time of this writing. It’s also unclear how often the podcast will put out new episodes.

However, each installment will feature several members from The Last of Us development team. Neil Drunkmann will obviously be an important part when it comes to developer insight, but the voice actors behind Joel and Ellie, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, will also discuss their experiences making the game.

When discussing The Last of Us Part 2, the podcast will likely avoid plot information until the game officially releases on June 19th. Naughty Dog has already had to deal with and take precautions against Last of Us Part 2 spoilers, so it doesn’t make much sense for the podcast to talk about story elements beyond what’s available in trailers and gameplay demos.

However, since the podcast releases so close to The Last of Us Part 2’s launch, there’s a chance that it may discuss the events of the game in later installments. The Part 1 story recap probably only exists to fill time while waiting for The Last of Us Part 2 to launch. If this is the case, fans will want to be sure to finish The Last of Us Part 2 before diving into later episodes of the podcast — though it will surely warn of any spoilers before discussing them.

PlayStation will host a State of Play stream focused on The Last of Us Part 2 on May 27th, so anyone interested in learning more about the game while waiting for the podcast to come out can tune into that. It’ll be available on PlayStation’s Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch channels.

The Last of Us Part 2 will release on June 19 for the PlayStation 4.
