Humble latest bundle offers up nine games, all of which feature at least one instance each where a dog can be petted.
Different people will weigh up different things when deciding whether a game is worth their time and money or not. Its graphics, how much time it will take to complete, whether it is compatible with a platform they have access too. Plus, for some, the decision to buy a game will hinge on whether that game has virtual dogs, and if a fuss can be made of them in-game.
We kid, of course, or at least we think we do. Nevertheless, whether a game’s dogs can be petted or not has become a running joke in gaming. There’s even a Twitter account dedicated to discovering every single game that has pettable dogs and sharing that key information with the world.
Can You Pet The Dog? has teamed up with Humble to bring gamers a bundle of titles that exclusively feature games in which the dogs can be petted. There are nine games in total, and anyone interested in playing them and petting some dogs can pay what they like. How much you pay will dictate which games you get. For the first four games, you only need to pay as little as $1 if you so choose.
For $1, gamers can get Scribblenauts Unlimited, Beyond Eyes, Dog Sled Saga, and Bulb Boy. Pay more than the average contribution, which is currently $4.75, and you’ll get those four games plus Shenmue 1 and 2, Where The Water Tastes Like Wine, and Death’s Gambit. For $12 or more, customers will get those eight games plus Blair Witch. The best part of all is as much or as little of the money you spend as you like will go to charity.
All of the charities benefitting from the sales of this bundle are related to animal welfare. Sweet Farm, The Humane Society of the United States, and Best Friends Animal Society. Anyone who buys the bundle, regardless of which tier they qualify for, will be able to choose how their money is split between the charities, the publishers of the nine games, and the Humble store.
