Patch 0.154.1 has just arrived in Valheim, and while it’s not the big Hearth and Home update that players have been waiting for, it does fix some nagging bugs, updates a few monsters with new mechanics, and adds a few new random events that’ll make the game more interesting.

To be honest, those random events aren’t really “new”, technically speaking. The Wolf Hunt and Fuling Army events are actually in the game already, but a bug was preventing either of them from triggering. The latest update fixes that bug so that you’ll now be alerted when “you are being hunted…” or “the horde is attacking.”

Iron Gate didn’t disclose exactly what would trigger either event, but given the enemies involved, we’re going to assume that the Wolf Hunt event likely happens after killing one of the game’s earlier bosses, while the Fuling Army event comes in the later game stages. Fulings can be a handful for new players, and an entire army of them–including Berserkers and Shamans–can be overwhelming even to veteran Vikings.

A few combat updates are included for Trolls and Serpents. Troll ground slam attacks can now be blocked, while Serpents won’t flee when reduced to low health. Also, stylish capes will no longer get bunched up and lumpy after jumping. Free-flowing capes for all!

There are a few other fixes and squashed bugs, such as rocks that are covered no longer looking wet during rainy weather. You can read the full patch notes over on Steam here.

In other Valheim news, Iron Gate is hiring to expand their team. Two potential human employees are in the interview stage, while one horse has been definitively hired. Iron Gate assures is that this doesn’t mean horses are soon to arrive in Valheim, so expect to continue hoofing to locations on two feet rather than four. Apparently, Iron Gate just wanted to sponsor a horse, so now they have a pony named Valheim.
