One of the developers from the now-unsupported multiplayer FPS game LawBreakers revealed some unreleased content for its fans.
Josh Rife is a Senior Environment Artist working at Boss Key Productions and was responsible for many of the settings in the game. A few days ago on Twitter he posted some of unused content that he had stashed away on his hard drive, now uploaded to Artstation.
The content is a series of stills from various maps and arenas that were intended to be released “every few weeks,” according to Josh. The shots show nighttime variations of Promenade and Reactor. Particularly eye-catching is the horror variant for Redfalls (called Bloodmoon) which casts everything in a red light, adding plenty of dark ambiance.
Josh made a point to credit a number of individuals who helped make these interesting locations: Johnathan Bishop who worked on lighting, Nick Peterson for sky work and FX, the Environment Art and LD teams at the company, and Tramell Isaac for overseeing everything.
While the shuttering of a game can be disheartening for its fans, Josh’s incredible work shows that it’s even more difficult for the creative minds behind those games. Many individuals at Boss Key Productions were dedicated and passionate about making LawBreakers into a great game, only to have that door closed. Regardless, thanks to Josh for releasing the extra content for fans to enjoy.
