Riot Games continues gaining momentum with yet another character release on the horizon. Very soon, League of Legends players will be able to battle as the new champion Yone with the 10.16 patch, and Riot has released a full preview of his abilities.
League of Legends is currently in the heat of the Spirit Blossom Festival which began just a couple of days ago. With the beginning of the festival, a new champion by the name of Lillia released, offering players lots of new content to behold for the next month. Along with offering a number of new missions and rewards, the Spirit Blossom 2020 Festival will also see the birth of a new champion, Yone.
Yone is the brother of Yasuo, who killed Yone in the worst moment of both of their lives. The last time players saw him, he was presumed dead, but fans weren’t satisfied with the simplistic end to a complicated brotherly relationship. The two grew up together under the same master, so Riot wanted to avoid just making Yasuo 2.0. Riot has released an overview of his abilities, which also master the way of the blade, like his brother.
Firstly, Yone’s passive will utilize his dual blades abilities, one of which is magical and will inflict more magical damage every other hit. His critical strike damage is also doubled, but his critical strikes deal reduced damage. His “Q” attack, known as “Mortal Steel,” is a deep thrust forward dealing physical damage that gives Yone a stack of Gathering Storm. After two stacks, he can dash forward with a wave that will send enemies into the air.
Yone’s ‘W’ or “Spirit Cleave” will send a massive swipe of an arc, cutting down the target’s maximum health. Following a successful hit, Yone will get a temporary shield. For his “E,” Yone can briefly take his ethereal form and leave his body behind. When it expires, he’ll snap back into his body and deal a percentage of the total damage health while in his Spirit Form. Finally, his ultimate titled “Fate Sealed” will strike all enemies in his path and knock each of them airborne.
Yone will cross over to the Rift with the 10.16 patch, releasing August 6th. He will also receive a Spirit Blossom skin akin to the Spirit Blossom Festival many players are currently championing.
League of Legends is available on PC.
