The Freljord region is home to one of the most diverse groups of champions in League of Legends, with their common theme of ice trailing through every character. The brutal landscape of the tundra can harden a person into a war machine, ready to tumble with any threat because survival is a top priority (as some of these champions express). Others maintain an empathetic view of life and others because of this harsh world.

Myers Briggs personality types situate personality types into identifiable groups. While not every character is a perfect fit into these personality types due to the limited knowledge of their stories, they are close.

14 Ashe, The Frost Archer: INFP

Ashe is a humble warrior uncomfortable with her position of authority. She leads reluctantly but intelligently, as her goals to unify all of Freljord propels her through her own doubts. INFPs share this idealistic take to life, often finding curiosity in strange things and wishing to live a life that aligns with their personal values.

Ashe channels her personality into her weapon and leadership, much like INFPs channel their personality into their interactions with others, their dreams, and their futures. Sometimes support is the best weaponry.

13 Lissandra, The Ice Witch: ISTJ

ISTJs can get the reputation of being cold and stoic, but in Lissandra’s case, it’s pretty fitting. Lissandra’s reclusive behaviors leave her quiet, serious, and as sturdy as ice like many ISTJs.

Her blindness caused her to have to stop, think, and observe the best that she can to assess her opponents and allies alike. She’s older than most other beings, with her age giving her a longstanding understanding of tradition and loyalty.

12 Sejuani, The Winter’s Wrath: ENTJ

Sejuani doesn’t believe in nonsense. War is survival and survival is necessary, so Sejuani leads with a tenacity that is unrivaled. ENTJ personalities are ready for action and call out complications. After all, Sejuani believes there is nothing more than surviving…and she’ll do whatever it takes to do it.

Many ENTJs take leadership positions, so it’s only natural that one as confident and driven as Sejuani is one. It’s no wonder she’s a top jungle champion.

Gnar’s personality echoes one of a curious toddler on a sugar-high…if you gave that toddler a boomerang and the ability to triple in size. His enthusiastic approach to the new world around him and spontaneous excitement place him in the same realm as an ENFP.

Though, it’s important to note that Gnar does not embody the maturity and observant nature that ENFP’s also have in tandem with their outgoing lifestyle.

10 Gragas, The Rabble Rouser: ESTP

The famed brewmaster just wants the perfect pint of ale, and he travels the land in search of the ingredients to make it. Gragas charge into everything, whether it’s a battle or a bramble bush because he saw a neat flower. ESTP’s are pragmatic, almost unable to hold themselves back from anything exciting or interesting in their vicinity.

ESTP’s have a reputation for believing that the moment is more important than the future, but having goals is still fine as long as they don’t impede the “now.”

9 Tryndamere, The Barbarian King: ESTJ

Practical, unquestioning, and a little instinct-driven, Tryndamere serves as an extreme version of a classic ESTJ. ESTJs are decisive, follow their own logical standards, and focus on results by the means of efficiency. Basically, Tryndamere and other ESTJs know how to get everything done.

He is vengeful and brutal in all he does, which isn’t a trait any personality inherently has. However, the manifestation of his bad qualities aligns with a really, really angry ESTJ.

8 Braum, The Heart Of Freljord: ENFJ

Braum is a jolly tank with a voice that will make anyone smile. His compassion for his beloved Poros is exemplary of an ENFJ, expressing responsiveness to the emotional needs of everyone and everything around them.

Braum is the best team player, always ready to help and inspire those around him into achieving their true potential. ENFJs are the ones you want around when you need a pick-me-up.

7 Nunu & Willump, The Boy And His Yeti: INFP

This analysis will focus more on Nunu, but in truth, Nunu and Willump are so similar that you can’t separate them and expect them to feel complete. INFP’s share a childlike wonder with the world, driven more by their connections with it than the opportunities for experience. However, with Willump by his side, Nunu has the confidence he needs to go off and be the hero he wants to be.

INFPs are loyal, thoughtful, and tend to shy away from leadership positions in exchange for a support role. They’re considered a great choice for low division ranked games.

6 Olaf, The Beserker: ESTP

Olaf’s desire for glory and battle leads him into strange places. He wants to break his own fate of dying peacefully in his sleep, as he believes that is a coward’s death for someone in such a battle-ready culture. ESTPs focus on action, always ready to jump into any problem as long as it’s not too imaginative or highbrow.

ESTPs like concrete things and actions, and what could be more concrete and action-driven than battle? Olaf believes nothing is.

5 Anivia, The Cryophoenix: INTP

Anivia is a withdrawn but noble guide to her tribe, as well a beacon of hope and rebirth. Because of her ability to return from death, Anivia spends much of her time contemplating her place. She finds more use in the abstract ideas of the world than anything else, but she has the willpower to protect all with her entire being.

After all, she’ll come back again, and be able to think of the problem in a new way.

4 Trundle, The Troll King: ENTP

Trundle believes in the result. Anyone who wanders into his territory is doomed to his heavy hand, but he’s not a pure brute. ENTPs are adaptable, bridging the gaps between thinking and doing in whatever situation is thrown at them.

Trundle believes outsmarting those you can’t beat, and beating those you can’t outsmart…which ENTPs will probably agree is a pragmatic way to go about solving issues.

3 Udyr, The Spirit Walker: ISTJ

Udyr isn’t the most sociable person in the region, mostly because he’s not entirely a human. He channels the animal spirits, embodying their emotions to fuel his own. ISTJs are inward beings, happy in organization and harmony in their environments.

Udyr’s association as an ISTJ might be a little loose, but it can explain his desire for keeping and restoring the balance of his land. Maybe this is part of what makes him a good jungler?

2 Volibear, The Relentless Storm: ESTJ

With a name like The Relentless Storm, it’s only fair that Volibear’s tenacity and forcefulness be similar to an ESTJ. Born leaders, sometimes confused for arrogant (or accurately labeled that way, depending on the person), and catalytic in their counterparts’ plans, ESTJs are fuel for the fire.

Volibear’s ruthlessness comes in like a storm, and his power stems from his ability to enforce. His rework had some people up in arms, but they didn’t adjust his personality.

1 Ornn, The Fire Below The Mountain: ISFJ

Despite his size and vigor, Ornn is a thoughtful balancer to the world’s imbalances, spending most of his time churning a cauldron and crafting beautiful wares from the ores in the mountain. But, when trouble comes, he takes out his hammer and wrecks shop. ISFJs share this sort of worldly responsibility, even if it’s just self-inflicted.

ISFJs are also fiercely aware of specific details about their environment and the people they care about, which for Ornn, might relate to his connection with the mountain.
