Dataminers have been pretty busy following the most recent patch release for VALORANT, revealing what will most likely be the next Agent to be added to the game. Along with information around a probable free-for-all mode, a new weapon skin bundle, left-handed support, and a timeout option, evidence for a new Agent by the name of Killjoy has been leaked.

At this point, there hasn’t been any official confirmation by Riot Games of whether or not Killjoy will, in fact, be joining Jett, Phoenix, Viper, and the array of other Agents in the coming months. But the sneakily-obtained data here certainly seems to support the theory.

Whispers of the name Killjoy have been circulating since before the game’s official release, when another leak revealed a potential codename - being Killjoy - for the apparently vetoed Agent Bombshell. Then, more leaks last month revealed possible insight into some abilities - a deployable turret and a floating drone of sorts - which have been linked to Bombshell/Killjoy.

That brings us to the present, with the latest update - Patch 1.03 - was released on July 7th. Dataminers busied themselves by dissecting the new files, and in doing so they discovered a whole lot of what seem to be Killjoy’s audio files as well as an in-game animation for him, as demonstrated in this Tweet (pictured below) from an account dedicated to releasing VALORANT leaks and news, Valorant Express.

At this point, however, there is no evidence of an actual character model for Killjoy yet, so you’ll see the animation has been applied to the Phoenix model instead.

The animation, according to the leakers, is entitled “DetainedLoopUB” and seems to be involved in Killjoy’s suspected Ultimate, although there’s not enough info available yet about exactly how.

Along with this, a full seven and a half minutes of audio files were dug up which apparently all belong to this Killjoy guy. While there aren’t any vocal files included, there is a hefty range of gunshots, robotic-sounding pings, and who knows what other kinds of whooshy zaps and zings. Some sounds could be likened to a projectile of sorts being fired off, which would align itself with the aforementioned drone ability that was leaked previously.

Judging by all the sounds and the overall information we’ve seen emerging, it seems safe to say that his abilities will likely be pretty tech-heavy.

For now though, that’s the most we know, and even this info is still pretty up in the air as Riot has yet to come out with an official announcement. What we do know for sure, however, is that they’re planning on releasing a new Agent every two months. That would coincide with the start of a new Act, and means if all goes according to plan we’ll be getting a total of six new Agents each year moving forward.

With Act 1 due to draw to a close on August 2nd and the second Act supposedly launching around the same time, we don’t have to wait that much longer before finding out if Killjoy will be next in line.
