While the formal launch of Legends of Runeterra 1.0 will happen on April 30, the newest expansion has finally been revealed and will be playable on April 28. The newest expansion is Rising Tides and will feature the brand-new region, Bilgewater, featuring 11 new Champions and over 120 new cards. Riot Games describes Bilgewater as a harbor where locals live and die by a code: take whatever you can.

Pirates roam looking for anything they can plunder, while swindlers and rogues look for the next big score, all the while, monsters of the deep can devour entire ships with no warning. Of the new cards, Bilgewater will lay claim to 5 Champions and over 60 cards of the new set, while each other region will see a new Champion added.

As one might expect, the new region will arrive with its own fleshed out Region Road to pursue new cards and regional card backs based on Rising Tides. Not to be left out, all other regions are having their Region Roads extended for additional rewards. This means that all Region Roads now feature 25 levels, up from 20. To facilitate all players gaining access to the new expansion, Rising Tides cards will take over as rewards from new levels of existing regions until they have all been collected.

Both new and returning players can now earn extra XP for early levels of the existing regions. This “XP Boost Level” system means that as of Patch 1.0’s launch on April 30, the first 12 levels of the original six Region Roads, excluding Bilgewater, will add a 50% multiplayer to XP gains.

To welcome the new Region into the game, new emotes, card backs, and two Bilgewater-inspired boards and guardians are being added to the game as well.

Finally, Expeditions will be updated to include all the newest content from Rising Tides. This will feature eight new Rising Tides archetypes added to the Expeditions draft pool, six new archetypes for each Region that is paired with Bilgewater, and one for solo Bilgewater. There will also be a new bonus archetype featuring Jinx and Fizz. For a time after the release of the expansion, players will see Rising Tides archetypes twice as likely as they would otherwise appear in the initial Champion picks.

While some of the cards have been revealed, some are yet to be shown. Click here for a complete listing of what is currently available. Best of luck to everyone who will be diving into the action at Bilgewater!
