Over the last decade, developer Traveller’s Tales has released several LEGO video game tie-ins to some of the biggest entertainment franchises around. There are LEGO game versions of Pirates of the Caribbean, LEGO game versions of The Lord of the Rings, and most recently, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, an adventure that saw several Marvel comic book heroes team up to defeat Kang.
According to a new leak, Traveller’s Tales is once again preparing to release another major LEGO movie tie-in, this time it will be about Disney Pixar’s superhero family The Incredibles. LEGO news site The Brick Fan reports that LEGO Juniors playsets for The Incredibles 2 have begun to show up early at retailers such as Walmart and that on the back of these sets there are advertisements for an upcoming LEGO The Incredibles game as well. The teaser image confirms that the game will be released on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The teaser for the game follows reports from January that also suggested that a LEGO The Incredibles game would be released. Sources suggested that the LEGO tie-in would be released in June, that the game would cover the stories of both of The Incredibles movies, and that fans could expect references to other Disney Pixar franchises too. Unfortunately, the teaser image doesn’t confirm any of the information from that report.
However, a June release date makes sense given that The Incredibles 2 movie will release that month and Traveller’s Tales games are known for their humor, which makes references to other Pixar franchises likely too. Moreover, LEGO The Incredibles would be the very first LEGO game that ties in with a Pixar franchise and Traveller’s Tales may want to celebrate that with a nod of the head to other Pixar series. Pixar fans previously got to play as their favorite Pixar characters in Disney Infinity. Hopefully, fans of the animated heroes won’t have long to wait until LEGO The Incredibles is shown off in an official capacity.
The LEGO The Incredibles game isn’t the only major tie-in that Traveller’s Tales is reportedly working on. A LEGO DC Villains game has also been discussed online. That game, which is also said to be developed by Traveller’s Tales, will reportedly feature such DC characters as Harley Quinn and Lex Luthor. There is currently no word on when that game may be released, what platforms it may be on and even when it’s going to be announced but Traveller’s Tales may hold off on any announcements regarding that title until LEGO The Incredibles is out the door.
