To recap

We wondered what the third instalment of the series would be like without the creator of Life is Strange at the helm, but developer Deck Nine has taken DontNod’s marker and upped the ante. All-new characters, story and superpowers make this narrative adventure a solo outing in its own right - you don’t need to have played the others. It also adds some great features of its own, in playable arcade machines, side quests and more. Just make sure you keep a box of hankies somewhere reachable. And be ready for the cutscene-heavy presentation and slower pace - which some will love, others not so much.
