Game Freak’s forgotten RPG title, Little Town Hero, will be releasing on PC soon. The developer announced that it would be coming to Steam on June 30, 2020, and will probably cost the same as the forthcoming PS4 edition. No physical edition is planned, though a special edition for the PS4 port is being created by NIS America.

There isn’t much information about what the PC version will have, but the Steam store page does list a multitude of language options (English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese). There’s also bound to be 4K resolution output and unlocked framerates, though we can’t say for certain.

Despite by most accounts being an average RPG, Little Town Hero flopped pretty hard on Switch. Players either didn’t know about the pedigree of its developer or didn’t care for the concept. I still don’t even really know what the game is about and I’ve been following it since it was originally titled Town.

The PC version isn’t likely to make the game an overnight success, but it’s nice that Game Freak is being given a chance on another platform. Pokémon is great and all, but it can be stifling to work on the same thing for over 20 years.
