It looks like Ninja has made his triumphant return to Twitch.
Early this morning, Ninja streamed on Twitch for the first time in over a year. The decision was apparently made at the very last second, with Ninja tweeting out last night that he planned to do something at 8 AM. As it turns out, his plan was to showcase the new season of Fortnite with an impromptu stream along with his good friend Dr Lupo.
This wasn’t quite the first time we’d seen Ninja stream since the Mixer shutdown that suddenly made him into a free agent. Ninja announced a partnership with YouTube Gaming early last month and followed that up with a stream there, but it just wasn’t the same.
Apparently, whatever contract Ninja signed with YouTube wasn’t exclusive because he’s back on Twitch.
He did have some oddly long hair–so long that Dr Lupo accused Ninja of being the lead singer for a grunge band.
The stream lasted for just over two hours and previewed much of what the new and automotive-focused Fortnite season has to offer. After Fortnite, the two moved on to Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone before finally calling it there.
And as it turned out, Ninja was pretty successful. According to the stats he posted following the stream, he managed to get 1.2 million live views with just under 100,000 concurrent viewers. He also regained 75,000 followers and his Twitch Affiliate status. Maybe one day he’ll even challenge some of the greats that are still on Twitch.
So what does this mean for Ninja’s future? Probably back to business as usual, if we’re honest. Ninja’s YouTube livestream just broke 100,000 viewers, which is nothing compared to the 1.2 million he got returning to Twitch. It seems that Twitch is still the king of streaming, and its crown prince is set to return.
Expect an assortment of Fortnite, Call of Duty, and maybe some VALORANT to keep things fresh.
