Loop Hero has many hidden mechanics within its simple yet very challenging — and addicting — gameplay system. The game’s card system alone can be a tad confusing initially as the game does not do a very great job explaining how to utilize them for the best possible outcome.
However, Loop Hero’s card system is rather deep and can help the player out tremendously if placed correctly. You can put certain cards with others to grant additional bonuses or materials. Additionally, others can give significant health buffs that will keep you alive longer or give better healing benefits while completing a loop. Loop Hero’s Tile Combos can be somewhat obtuse and complex to come by on your own, but they offer such great buffs that every player must be aware of so they can maximize their chances of success.
14 Mountain Peak
Placing nine Rock or Mountain cards in a 3x3 square will create a Mountain Peak and grant the player +120 health.
Additionally, with every adjacently placed Rock or Mountain card placed, the player will gain +5 health. However, Harpies will spawn every two days once a Mountain Peak gets constructed, and there can only be one Mountain Peak made on each expedition.
13 Empty Treasury
Surrounding a Treasury with eight material tiles will empty it, giving the player loads of resources.
You can surround the Treasury with essentially anything. It will always give you random material based on the Loop Level you are currently on. It will be wise to wait on filling in the last square until you reach later Loops.
12 Burned Forest
The Burned Forest tile gets created whenever a Thicket or Forest tile gets struck by lightning by the Storm Temple. The Storm Temple will strike two random tiles with lightning every five seconds.
Burned Forest will give the player +0.5% magic damage and can also be used to create the Hungry Groves tile (below).
11 Hungry Groves
There are several ways you can turn the Blood Groves into the Hungry Groves tile. One way is to surround the Blood Groves with Burned Forests (above). The other way is to use the Oblivion card to destroy all adjacent Grove, Thicket, and Forest cards.
Hungry Groves will kill any foe with 20% health remaining and attack the player dealing [5+3] damage with every loop.
10 Blooming Meadow
The Blooming Meadow tile gets created whenever you place a Meadow next to any other tile that isn’t another Meadow one.
Blooming Meadow will heal the player for +3 for each new day. Placing Meadows next to each other or on their own will only recover the player’s health +2, so putting them adjacently to other tiles is essential.
9 Ransacked Village/Count’s Land
Placing a Vampire Mansion adjacent to a Village tile will create a Ransacked Village. After three loops, the Ransacked Village will turn into Count’s Land.
The Ransacked Village can spawn up to four Ghouls every loop, but once it turns into Count’s Land, the player will be healed by [15+5] every loop whenever they pass the tile. Count’s Land will also give special quests with better rewards as opposed to an ordinary village.
8 Oasis
Placing a River tile next to a Desert or Sand Dune will turn the River tile into an Oasis.
The Oasis tile will lower the player’s attack speed by -0.05% and decrease creatures’ attack speed by -1%. You may lose some attack speed, but the enemies’ attack speed will lower more than yours, making an Oasis a great idea to create.
7 Towns
Putting the Suburb tiles in a cross formation will spawn a Town in the center tile.
Towns will add +2 to Experience Gained whenever successfully killing an enemy.
6 Bridge/Reed
Whenever you place a River tile onto a Wasteland tile, you will create a Bridge. Placing the River next to the Wasteland tile will make a Reed.
The Bridge tile will allow the River to flow through it, making it useful for other synergies requiring Rivers. The Reed tile will spawn a Fish Man every three days.
5 Shipwreck
Placing a River tile next to a Battlefield will create a Shipwreck.
The Shipwreck tile will give the player a chest and spawn a Siren every loop. Additionally, it keeps the Battlefield effects and can turn enemies into ghosts on any adjacent tile.
4 Goblin Lookout
Putting a Swamp next to a Goblin Camp will create the Goblin Lookout tile.
The Goblin Lookout tile will add Goblin Archers whenever you battle in the area.
3 Overgrown Field
Placing an A Village? tile next to a Wheat Field will create the Overgrown Field tile. You will also make an Overgrown Field by using the Oblivion Card to destroy a Village that is adjacent to a Wheat Field.
The Overgrown Field will create a Field of Blades on any empty tile during a battle and spawn a Scarecrow every four days.
2 Blood Path
Whenever placing a Wasteland tile in the Battlefield’s range, it will create the Blood Path tile.
The Blood Path will spawn a Blood Clout every four days.
1 Abandoned Bookery + Vampire Mansion/Temporal Beacon
Placing an Abandoned Bookery Tile next to a Vampire Mansion will add a Vampire Mage to any battle in the area.
Additionally, placing the Abandoned Bookery next to the Temporal Beacon tile will add a Watcher Mage to battles that take place on nearby tiles.
