MAD Lions are targeting former Ninjas in Pyjamas member Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson for their CS:GO roster, according to a report from DBLTAP. MAD Lions have been in search of a fifth player after reportedly benching Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen last month.
Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson has been without a team since May, after being benched from Ninjas in Pyjamas. Under the NiP banner, Lekr0 placed second at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen in 2018 and 2019. As in-game leader, the Swede led the team to the play-offs at the IEM Katowice 2019 Major. They reached a high of sixth in the World Rankings.
After nearly two years with the team, Ninjas in Pyjamas announced their decision to bench Lekr0 in May of 2020. The 27-year-old has been without a team since, though is now in talks to join Danish team MAD Lions, according to DBLTAP.
MAD Lions have been in need of a fifth player since reportedly benching rifler Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen in June. MAD Lions have risen up the CS:GO ranks over the last year after semi-final placements at DreamHack Open Sevilla and DreamHack Open Leipzig. The team got their first major victory after defeating MIBR to win Flashpoint Season 1 earlier this year.
There is no confirmation on who will leave MAD Lions should Lekr0 join the lineup. MAD Lions are next scheduled to compete in DreamHack Open Summer Europe.
