After over a month without a full roster, MAD Lions has signed Polish player innocent to their CS:GO team.

Last June, MAD Lions benched their star rifleman, Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, following their last place elimination at the cs_summit 6 Europe Regional Qualifier. There was no explanation for the benching as Bubzkji had the highest rating among MAD Lions’ CS:GO Roster over the 3 months prior, with speculation leading to personal or health reasons.

Former Ninjas in Pyjamas member Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson was rumored to be targeted to replace Bubzkji in July. Lekr0 has been a free agent since May, but the Swedish player was instrumental in much of NiPs previous successes.

However, we have news today that MAD Lions has instead gone with another option to fill out their roster. Paweł “innocent” Mocek has been signed from Illuminar and will represent MAD Lion’s fifth member at DreamHack Open Summer Europe. With a Polish team member, MAD Lions will now swap their in-comms language from Danish to English going forward.

“Thrilled to have the opportunity to join a team like MAD Lions,” wrote innocent on Twitter. “If you know me, you know I will work my ass off to make it work, as I did last year in order to be here. Hopefully I can use this chance to prove myself on the highest level of competition. Thank you for a chance.”

With an overall rating of 1.09 over the past three months, innocent was the best that Illuminar had to offer. The Polish team has been struggling to break into the rankings over the past year, and innocent’s departure is unlikely to do them any favors.

Sources speaking to HLTV say that innocent’s contract with MAD Lions is for the long haul, although no details were made public by the team.

Innocent will have to be at the top of his game to help MAD Lions, currently ranked number 23 in the world. We’ll see how he performs at DreamHack tomorrow.
