After securing the MVP award last year, Lamar Jackson was gifted with the Madden 21 cover and his team is poised to make a run at the Super Bowl in 2020-21. The Baltimore Ravens are a relatively new franchise but have seen plenty of success in their short tenure as a part of the NFL.
Their general managers have done an excellent job of building competitive rosters that are largely built through the draft. It’s time to look at the 10 best Baltimore Ravens cards available in Ultimate Team for Madden 21, so fans know who they should pursue.
10 Justin Tucker (86)
Kickers aren’t the most interesting players on a given football roster, but they can make all the difference in close games and clutch situations. Justin Tucker isn’t just the Baltimore Ravens kicker, most would consider him to be the best at his position in the entire league. Because of the scarcity of the position, high overall special teams cards can be quite pricey. This means that you better be prepared to spend a decent amount for Tucker’s 86 overall card despite it being at a position you use and need a fraction of the time.
9 Calais Campbell (86)
Calais Campbell is a large man who somehow makes an even larger mark on the teams he’s a part of. His voice may register at an impossibly low octave, but his leadership can be heard throughout the organizations he’s a part of. He became a name as a member of the Arizona Cardinals, a true leader in Jacksonville as a Jaguar, and is hoping to become a champion as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Campbell would argue he’s much better than an 86 overall card, and a glance at his stat sheet would likely point towards an argument in his favor.
8 Patrick Queen (88)
The Baltimore Ravens have a great track record of employing some of the league’s best linebackers. Going all the way back to the great Ray Lewis, linebacker is a position the Ravens have always thrived at.
Patrick Queen is their new rookie linebacker out of LSU who has entered the league with his hair on fire. The young linebacker has quickly emerged as a rising star and has shown a knack as a playmaker. His 88 overall card is likely just the beginning of where the rest of his career can take him in the NFL.
7 Lamar Jackson (89)
Lamar Jackson is the reigning NFL MVP and Madden cover athlete so it’s surprising to see that his highest overall card is an 89. This will likely change as the year goes on and the folks at EA continue to break the threshold in terms of the highest-rated cards available in the mode. Jackson may not be the most accurate pocket-passer, but those who like a dual-threat quarterback can certainly make the most of his speed. Just make sure you understand that he’s a quarterback at the end of the day and don’t be afraid to slide.
6 Chuck Clark (89)
Chuck Clark is one of the Baltimore Ravens many homegrown products and was gifted with a new extension in 2020 for his play and development since he came into the league as a Ravens draft pick in 2017. When the organization cut Earl Thomas due to personality concerns and behavior issues casual fans were worried about the Ravens’ solution at safety. He earned a chance in 2019 to start and hasn’t looked back since. His 89 overall Ultimate Team card in Madden 21 shines a light on how good the Ravens are at developing talent.
5 Adalius Thomas (89)
Now, Adalius Thomas isn’t Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, or Terrell Suggs, but he was a piece in building the foundation for the Baltimore Ravens. His best season as an NFL professional linebacker came in 2006, his final year with the Baltimore Ravens. That year Thomas not only made his second Pro Bowl roster but landed on the NFL First-team All-Pro for the first and only time in his career. Think of this 89 overall card as a reflection of that season in which Thomas recorded 11 sacks, a safety, and a single interception.
4 Orlando Brown Jr (89)
Orlando Brown Jr is one of the NFL’s greatest and most emotionally gripping stories. His father was part of the Baltimore Ravens and was a force at offensive tackle for the franchise. After he passed away his son not only hoped of following his father’s footsteps in the NFL but wished he could suit up for the Baltimore Ravens, the organization that had given his family so much. Thankfully the universe worked itself out and Brown Jr landed on his father’s old team, and thanks to his stellar play was given an 89 overall card in this year’s Ultimate Team in Madden 21.
3 Patrick Ricard (90)
When do you ever hear about a team’s fullback in the year 2020? The position itself has kind of disappeared in large part thanks to the game’s focus on a spread offense in which the quarterback and running back are in shotgun a majority of the time.
Thanks to the Baltimore Ravens reverting to an old school run-first approach, Patrick Ricard’s talents as a fullback haven’t been lost. His 90 overall card makes him the best at his position in Ultimate Team and that means this card won’t be easy to come by or cheap in any sense of the word.
2 Mark Andrews (90)
During Lamar Jackson’s 2019 MVP season he relied on his tight ends in the passing game, which wasn’t hard to do considering who he had. Hayden Hurst, who is now an Atlanta Falcon, was a frequent target for Jackson in 2019, but Mark Andrews has seemingly been his favorite person to throw to in a Baltimore Ravens uniform. The large Oklahoma University product has broken out as a true red-zone threat and makes catches when they matter most. If this sounds appealing to you then try and get your hands on his 90 overall card.
1 Marlon Humphrey (92)
Marlon Humphrey doesn’t get talked about in the same way that Jalen Ramsey does, but statistically, they each have a case as the NFL’s best cornerback. This year the Baltimore Ravens awarded his effort and play by signing Humphrey to a 5-year extension worth up to $97.5 million, with guaranteed money coming in at $66 million. Fans may be wondering why Ray Lewis or Terrell Suggs don’t have a 92 overall card in Madden 21’s Ultimate Team when they should be realizing how great Humphrey is and deserving of this spot.
