Mario Kart Tour has officially surpassed 200 million downloads across the App Store and Google Play. Those impressive install stats have resulted in impressive revenue for Nintendo, with Mario Kart Tour earning $200 million over its lifetime.

The news comes from Sensor Tower, which analyzed the mobile racer’s performance since launching in 2019. Shockingly, Tour managed to accrue 100 million downloads after just 11 days on the market. Six months later it had passed $100 million in revenue. Although it wasn’t able to keep up that impressive pace, it still managed to be the second-best mobile Nintendo game in terms of revenue – earning $93 million between April 1 of last year and March 31 of 2021.

During that timeframe, Mario Kart Tour’s numbers were only beat out by Fire Emblem Heroes – which earned a staggering $163 million.

“While Mario Kart Tour has not been able to sustain the highs of its big launch, it has maintained a fairly consistent revenue stream, generating $7.7 million on average per month globally over the last year,” Craig Chapple, mobile insights strategist at Sensor Tower, said. “The title is an example of the power of big IP in generating launch buzz.”

Despite that fairly consistent performance, several other mobile racers have outperformed Mario Kart Tour over the past 12 months. Kartrider Rush+ has seen $169 million in revenue across the globe since April 1 of last year, beating out all others in the category. That’s followed by QQ Speed and CSR Racing 2 – and finally Mario Kart Tour.

Mario Kart Tour continues to stay relevant with constant updates and seasonal Tours that introduce new characters, karts, and courses. Its latest update – the Ninja Tour – introduced a challenging new Ninja Hideaway location for players to test their mettle. The team also recently teased The Emerald City as part of the upcoming Sydney Tour.
