Let me take a selfie! That’s probably the last thing to expect our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man would say unless he still worked for the Daily Bugle. Photo mode has been a very prominent feature within modern games. Showcasing some cool, cinematic, and funny moments, within the capture feature. Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PS4 is no exception, with some wild and entertaining picture moments from the web-slinger.
If Jonah Jameson would have caught wind of this earlier, he would have a packed staff of photographers that probably would offer better photos than Peter Parker can mustard up. However, there are moments and places within the game that would be unexpected and hilarious to take a selfie at. Let’s take a look!

10 The Fisk Tower
Oh man, Kingpin won’t be happy about this one. In the opening mission to the game, you infiltrate the Fisk Tower to go apprehend the famous crime boss and bring him to justice. Afterward, Kingpin is held up in prison for the duration of his stint within the game.
What would really puts salt in the wounds is that while he is locked up, Spidey is just taking pictures at the same location, Fisk used to call home. There is nothing he can do about it as Spidey is just teasing this man at this point.
9 In Front Of Traffic
Imagine going to work and only to be late because Spider-Man was holding up traffic because he wanted to take a selfie. Spider-Man can disrupt traffic within the game and people wouldn’t even attempt to run him over, because they would probably damage their car more than damage him.
This leaves a bunch of irate drivers that would probably take a detour afterward to meet with the city council to set Spidey’s selfie habits straight. However, this would be an interesting excuse to tell your boss about the unexpected tardiness.
8 On Top Of The Empire State Building
The most iconic building in New York City. Ask anyone who played the game, would tell you that they have reached the top of the Empire State Building. It’s pretty much a rite of passage within the open-world Spider-Man games.
It’s a landmark within the game, that allows players to take a photo of it if they enjoy the occasional side missions or for completionists out there. However, if Spidey wants to take a selfie like a boss, he can go all the way to the top. Add his Undies Suit and it is even funnier to see him up there. Move over King Kong, Spidey needs to take a selfie!
7 In Front Of A Train
Watch Out Spidey! Possibly the dumbest and funniest idea to take a selfie in The Big Apple is getting on the train tracks and taking a picture of an oncoming train heading Spidey’s direction. Spidey has to be quick about this one because getting hit by a train is instadeath.
This selfish reminds players and moviegoers about the scene from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, where Spidey stopped the train from falling with his webs, bare hands, and feet. Put on the iconic movie suit and let’s see if he can reenact that moment.
6 Gang Strongholds
Gang Strongholds are side activities within the game. It’s essentially the game’s horde mode as Spidey fights off waves of enemies to finish tasks and objectives. Whether it’s between the mucky Fisk’s hired goons or Silver Sable’s high tech mercenaries, Spidey has his work cut out for him.
However, before the fight, take a selfie to remember before the enemies reach their demise. Or if you want to savor the moment after the fight, take a selfie alongside the webbed up sack of trapped enemies. That’s called, “sending a message” or making a hilarious postcard to send to Fisk in prison.
5 ESU Halloween Party
Spidey goes back to school in this funny and entertaining mission. Spidey visits his alma mater of fictional college, Empire State University. This time he is not taking classes, he is infiltrating a campus Halloween party to locate Dr. Issac Delaney before the villainous Demons get a hold of him.
Along the way, however, Spidey encounters the many students dressed up as his rogue gallery of villains like Rhino, Mysterio, and Vulture including some Spidey costumes. Speaking of which, Kinda Funny’s own Greg Miller makes his Shirtless Spider-Man alter ego appearance at the party. This mission sets up for all kinds of funny and wacky selfies. Sorry doc, rescuing you would have to wait.
4 In A Swimming Pool
With everything going on with the crime-fighting, web-slinging, science experiments, and superpowered battles Spidey endure daily, its best that he relax a bit. No better way to relax by trespassing on someone’s property and hopping right into the swimming pool. Spidey is upscale and fancy, so its best to take a selfie at a pool on top of a luxury building.
A kind of “fake it to you make it” Instagram approach. We recommend Spidey at least switch to the Undies Suit, so he doesn’t get his costume all soggy and wet hopping out of the pool.
3 In The Atlantic Ocean
If Spidey gets busted by the cops for trying to take a swim in someone’s pool, suggest going to the Atlantic Ocean instead. There you will find boats, cruises, and of course water. Take a dive into the ocean and take a selfie. Luckily for Spidey, he is within web-slinging distance to get back to the land.
If Spidey wants to be noisy, he can take a selfie with the horrendous looking polygonal people on board. Don’t fault Insomniac Games too much for this one, since New York City is beautifully rendered within this game. At least the people within the city don’t look this bad.
2 During Boss Battles
Okay imagine being humiliated with a selfie not once, but twice? Looking at you, Wilson Fisk. The versatility of the powerful photo mode allows Spidey to take a timeout from fighting the opposing bosses who desire nothing, but his death to capture the moment.
This is funny because while the villain is trying to annihilate Spidey, he is not taking this showdown seriously if he’s going to bring out a phone camera to take a selfie. Imagine the boss’s confusion, where most of the time, the action is paused to do an upgrade or heal up. No, just taking a photo to remember the sweet violent moments with Spidey’s adversaries.
1 At A Crime Scene
Spidey just wants to have fun – with criminals. Okay, that sounds like a line Jonah Jameson would say on his in-game podcast, Just the Facts with J. Jonah Jameson or Daily Bugle tabloids. However, by fun, Spidey means taking a selfie in front of the store that is being robbed or drugs that are being busted.
Afterward, he can admire his work of art of his vigilante prowess with a webbed up criminal or cops showing up to apprehend the suspects. There it is! A face full of embarrassment on the criminal’s faces while looking stupid on Spidey’s cell phone and everyone laughing at their pity. Silly thugs, crimes are for supervillains. Duh!
