As people in the US protest the lockdown rules imposed in certain states, one angry citizen thought it would be a good idea to come dressed as Pikachu.
Pretty much the entire world is in lockdown right now as it collectively tries to stem and fight off the coronavirus. However, some people are sick of staying indoors and have been protesting outside of various government buildings in the United States. Protestors claim the lockdown orders are infringing on their civil liberties and irreparably damaging the economy.
Protesting something being enforced the world over to save lives is one thing. Doing so with guns in hand is another entirely. Then there’s doing so armed with a gun while dressed as a giant Pikachu, as one person in Michigan decided to do. Clearly, whoever was wearing the costume wasn’t aware that Pikachu can perform moves like Thundershock so didn’t really need to bring a gun.
As for who was inside the outfit, and why they decided to come to a protest dressed as the world’s most famous Pokémon, that may forever remain a mystery. What we do know is the image of an oversized Pikachu staring blankly up at a government building while holding an assault rifle is one we won’t easily shake. At least not until this lockdown is over.
