Microsoft is currently holding a contest for fans to win a Sonic movie-themed Xbox One X console…and no, this is not an April Fool’s joke. On the official Xbox Twitter account, the contest went up just a few hours before the absolute worst day in the world and fans were skeptical. Can a console that ugly really be a prize?
As a matter of fact, it can. If you fell in love with Paramount’s strange CGI creation, you can now bring his ugly mug home and put it on your shelf. This “lovely” console will not only have Sonic’s face and the film’s logo but will come with an equally gaudy controller to play with.
The official rules page doesn’t specifically state that certain countries are void, so it seems everyone across the globe will be eligible to win this. If you’re in Croatia and really want a Sonic Xbox One X, your time has come.
As much as I’m ripping on this, it’s cool to see Microsoft give out themed consoles. The company has done similar contests in the past and it’s always nice to see something done for the fans. Just next time, can we tone down the obnoxious color scheme a bit?
