Minecraft’s Nether Update added tons of new features to the game’s iconic underworld. Perhaps the most significant change implemented in the mechanics we have come to love is the addition of netherite: the material to surpass diamond. Finding a diamond ore back when the game had significantly fewer features was the equivalent of finding the holy grail.
Going mining was such a different task prior to the updates that built up the game we know today. But Minecraft always maintained its special charm. In fact, people still use X-ray Texture Packs to find Ancient Debris. Once players accumulate enough netherite scraps, they can look forward to making some invaluable creations. Naturally, fans can only get a hold of netherite in the Nether biomes. They’ll need to equip themselves appropriately before making the trip.
10 Netherite Sword
A player’s sword is always going to be one of the most essential items as it is viable in most encounters. Luckily, making a netherite sword only requires one ingot as opposed to the usual two. However, to make an ingot, players have to combine three netherite scraps and four gold ingots.
A netherite sword is invaluable because it deals more damage than a diamond one – especially in the Bedrock version. That version has a base attack damage of 9 (or four and a half hearts). To make it, combine a diamond sword and a netherite ingot in a Smithing Table.
9 Netherite Pickaxe
The one item a player always wants to carry anywhere they go is a sturdy pickaxe. Since Minecraft revolves around the concept of breaking blocks, it would be best if players saved inventory space by bringing the most durable tools including a pickaxe.
A netherite one is significantly more durable than a diamond pickaxe allowing for 2031 uses as opposed to 1561. Upgrading a diamond pickaxe also carries over all its enchantments, so it’s best to ensure there aren’t any of the bad ones on it before doing so.
8 Netherite Armor Set
The best armor players can wear in the game is no longer diamond. But this is not due to the defense points netherite will net people. Diamond and netherite have the same defense stats, but the latter comes with some useful properties that could potentially be more useful.
The netherite chestplate comes with 10% knockback resistance, and every other armor piece is resistant to fire and cannot burn in lava. This affords players the best base fire protection in the game without enchantments. However, wearing a full netherite armor set will not make you immune to damage from fire and lava. Just don’t go swimming in the Nether yet.
7 Netherite Axe
Another tool players often need to have handy is an axe. Axes are versatile and double as weapons in a pinch, but their main purpose is to chop wood. Depending on the type of base someone wants to build, wood is almost always going to be a primary material.
Gathering enough wood can take some time, so players might as well bring the best axe they can afford. Make work much more efficient by having the best tool possible for the job.
6 Netherite Shovel
If fans like to make a proper layout of land for a prospective base, they’ll need to dig up tons of dirt blocks. Digging chews through shovels incredibly fast since dirt blocks are easy to dig and plentiful in the wild. Having a netherite shovel, which is as durable as a netherite pickaxe, can make this process much easier.
Furthermore, bringing durable tools when going on cave expeditions will save precious inventory space. Caves are full of annoying gravel that will suddenly fall if players are not careful. Bringing this shovel will make life easier underground.
5 Block Of Netherite
This expensive material requires nine netherite ingots to be crafted, but it’s one of the best defensive blocks in the game. It’s just as resistant to explosions as obsidian, but it can also be moved with pistons (unlike obsidian) which is useful for those looking to do something creative with redstone.
Depending on needs and available resources, players might have to put off crafting netherite blocks and employ obsidian, which is much easier to produce or find, in order to boost a base’s defenses.
4 Netherite Redstone Entrance
Since netherite is resistant to blast explosions and its blocks can be moved by pistons, players could update redstone doors with one of the best defensive materials in the game. Most players in Minecraft eventually come around to experimenting with redstone.
One simple project that can spruce up any base is a redstone door powered up by buttons and pressure plates. Most times, players walk outside only to find a Creeper waiting. A good way to minimize damage is to implement netherite blocks in redstone designs.
3 Netherite Walls
Netherite blocks can also be used to make a wall layer outside a base. Depending on the size, players might want to fortify certain positions rather than others – especially the ones close to chests and other stored valuables.
To do this, simply make a line of building material and place netherite blocks on the outside. Then make another single-file line of that preferred building material. If a Creeper wanders close while near the base, only the outside will be damaged, leaving the inside untouched.
2 Netherite Hoe
Players should really think about upgrading their hoe last if they want to have a full set of netherite tools at their disposal. Netherite hoes have no special properties other than the significant increase in durability netherite creations come with.
Naturally, this upgraded tool can prove valuable to those who enjoy focusing on farming large scale crops. Other than that, make sure to prioritize the tools used most often like a sword or armor. Netherite is hard to come by, so it’s best to use it in efficient ways
1 Beacon Foundation
Other than tools, armor, and blocks, players can use netherite to power up crafted beacons. This is an extremely expensive process and should only be attempted by those who have industrial quantities of netherite ingots that they want to employ as decorative blocks.
Beacons can be powered up by using iron blocks instead which are much easier to obtain. Should anyone wish to show off how much netherite they were able to come by, they could make part of the pyramid, underlying beacons, using a couple of netherite blocks. But players really should think about saving netherite for other purposes.
