Fans of Minecraft Dungeons are getting treated to some new DLC this September with the release of “Creeping Winter,” which is sure to bring more of the adventure and skelly-killing action that you’ve come to love. However, the update isn’t limited to just the Creeping Winter DLC.

If you’ve never played Minecraft Dungeons you can get started with the new “Hero Edition” that will give you access to unique skins and both the “Jungle Awakens” and “Creeping Winter” DLC packs. If you’re an existing player and you aren’t interested in getting the DLC, you can rest assured that you aren’t getting left behind. There is a free portion of the update that adds new merchants and new challenges that rotate daily.

The physical edition of the game will be available on all of the major consoles, including the Nintendo Switch. Mojang’s press release also states that there will be new mobs, armor, and ways to trade with other players in the game. They also hinted that there might be exclusive armor and weapons in the DLC that play by the “finders keepers” rule. Fans of Minecraft’s Dedrock and Java editions will recognize the frosty new mobs that will be in the update, but as usual, there might be a slight twist to how everything works, just to keep the game fresh.

If you’ve ever found yourself in an ice-biome minding your own business collecting that sweet, sweet blue ice only to be attacked by a stray, you know what it will take to make it through the missions of Creeping Winter. If you have not come across a stray in your Minecraft games, you’re going to have two challenges in front of you. The first will be simply moving around on the ice, and the second will be dealing with the enchanted arrows of the stray.

The possibilities for content from the world of Minecraft seem to be truly limitless as Mojang provides updates, not only for the original versions of the game, but also for Dungeons. This is a great way for players to experience all that there is in the Minecraft universe without having to spend all of that time walking around, grinding for resources and getting lost without the equipment that you need to survive. We know what we’ll be doing on September 8th.
