Minecraft Dungeons is getting a brand new DLC touted as “the conclusion to the story we’ve been following for over a year,” In this new content, you’ll face off against the base game’s final boss, the Ender Dragon. It’s called Echoing Void and it launches July 28.
On top of that, it’ll be launching alongside an Ultimate Edition of the game which bundles together all the DLCs so far. Those are Jungle Awakens, Creeping Winter, Howling Peaks, Flames of the Nether, Hidden Depths, and Echoing Void. It’ll be sold at a discount.
“Months after ridding the Overworld of the corruption brought by the Orb of Dominance, the time has come for the conclusion,” the blog post opened, “In this final arc, you take the fight to the presumed home turf of the Enderman: the End. The end!”
So, this is a wrap on Minecraft Dungeons, aye? Well, not exactly. The blog post continues to say that there is “Plenty more to come.” Perhaps the use of the word “presumed” is of importance here - it could be that the End isn’t the actual domain of the Enderman like we’ve believed all these years, or perhaps there’s a larger threat looming beyond the abyss.
Nonetheless, the DLC features new legendary gear, enemies, and locales to explore as you skewer familiar foes. Meanwhile, there’s free content being added in the form of The Gauntlet of Gales which is releasing alongside the Echoing Void, adding a “maze-like” mission where you are tasked with solving puzzles and conquering trials. It will be available from the mission map.
On top of that, the free content update will be adding new enchantments such as Ambush, Shadow Blast, and Void Strike.
Minecraft Dungeons is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. You can pick it up on Game Pass and play with anybody regardless of hardware - it has cross-platform multiplayer.
