The Minecraft 1.16 Nether Update completely overhauled the way players interacted with the Nether, but also came with a few bugs that needed ironing out, including the piglin duplication glitch. Thankfully, this new patch fixes that, plus a little more.
The Nether was always one of the most exciting and interesting parts of Minecraft and thankfully, with the 1.16 Nether update, the game was able to flesh it out a bit more. New environments, mobs, materials, and more made it one of the most exciting updates to the game in recent memory, but with such big changes there were bound to be a few issues. The most prominent one was the baby piglin duplication glitch, which the newest update has now addressed.
This patch’s main fix is the item duplication glitch involving baby piglins, which would allow players to give any item with a gold ingot to a baby piglin and have their item duplicated after they killed the piglin. This glitch made hunting for rare materials trivial, since you would only have to find at least one before duplicating it as many times as you wanted using baby piglins.
The other fix listed in the changelog revolves around enemy pathfinding. The patch specifically references how piglins, piglin brutes, hoglins, and zoglins will all have improved pathfinding when attacking players. Those who had played the game before this patch may have noticed how inconsistent and unintelligent these new enemies seemed to be once they drew their aggro. Now, this fix should make them more of a challenge.
It is also worth mentioning that this patch has only been released for the Java Edition of the game. Players with the Bedrock Edition or who play on other platforms won’t have access to the patch just yet.
While this patch is a minor one, targeting just one major glitch and some quality of life improvements, players can expect more soon, as we are less than a month away from the Minecraft Live event that will be held on October 3. Many fans are expecting news about the next major update for Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons.
