A revamped version of an arcade classic is coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch this week, in the form of Missile Command: Recharged.
Missile Command: Recharged is an updated version of Missile Command for modern systems that is being released for the game’s 40th anniversary. The aim of Missile Command: Recharged is to protect cities from being destroyed by firing missiles into enemy vehicles and obstacles before they can hit the ground. The original game has received numerous ports over the years and versions of it exist on many modern systems.
Missile Command: Recharged features all-new power-ups and upgrades in order to shake up the experience. The updated version also has online leaderboards that players can compete in. The game features revamped visuals and a retro-inspired soundtrack. The Steam version of Missile Command: Recharged also comes with an achievements system. Unfortunately, the game lacks any kind of multiplayer component outside of the online leaderboards.
Missile Command: Recharged will be released for PC and Nintendo Switch on May 27, 2020. Missile Command: Recharged is currently available for mobile phones and will be released on PC through the Epic Games Store in the near future.
