The Modern Warfare series tells a dark tale about the world being thrust into a new global conflict. Despite the dramatic plot, fans have found the humor inside it and conveyed this through memes. The ten memes below are so funny, they will make anyone forget the game is about a fictional world war.

Some consider it tasteless to crack wise about a game where thousands upon thousands of people die, but the games are ultimately fictitious. Besides, the story is so ridiculous and over the top, one cannot help but chuckle at some of the more outlandish ideas.

10 Always Count On Ramirez

What’s better than defending one’s country from a Russian invasion? Ask Sergeant Foley and he’ll probably say “ordering Ramirez to do it.” This joke is not entirely fair to Foley, however, since he does his share of the dirty work in the battlefield alongside Ramirez. This meme certainly comes from truth, however. Playing the recent Modern Warfare 2: Campaign Remastered reminds players how often Foley is ordering the player character around.

9 As If Shooting Him In The Face Was Not Bad Enough

How could someone stoop any lower than the guy in this meme throwing Ghost into his shallow grave? Not only does he toss him like someone would a bag of fertilizer into a pickup truck, but he dabs at the same time.

The soldier under General Shepherd’s command deserves commendation for at least doing it before the move became popular in the United States.

8 All Kids Have Learned This Lesson

Exploiting children is wrong, but at least in this case it would have been to the kid’s benefit. However, we all know how young ones’ big mouths can blow up a lie on the spot. Even if said child is already nineteen years old, they would readily call out their dad’s lie, especially if it was to correct their age. After seeing this picture, however, they will probably think twice about it.

7 Don’t Think About It Too Hard

While this logic meme is funny to think about, it ultimately has a few logical flaws of its own. Since the picture shows Ghost, it is assumed they are referring to the doomed character announcing the EMP blast.

The nuclear bomb only disables all electronics in the north eastern United States. Ghost is in Russia with Price and Soap when the missile launches, so his radio should not be affected.

6 Modern Warfare 2?

Is this a photo from Modern Warfare 2 or the state of the world four years from now? The future always looks bleak, so it is hard to call Infinity Ward fortune tellers when numerous pieces of media depict a dour tomorrow. It is funny to think people play games to relieve stress, yet Call of Duty fans play games about international armed conflicts and depressing predictions for the near future.

5 Burger Town Is Key

Of all the places in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Army apparently believes it is the most vital to secure Burger Town. We know America loves fast food, but this seems a little overboard considering the situation. They could have at least opted to save Dunkin Donuts instead. After all, America runs on it.

4 It’s Not Cheating, It’s Strategy

Camping is the bane of any first-person shooter fan’s existence, unless they are the ones engaging in it, of course. Like any seedy activity, a rebranding should make it more acceptable.

Call it tactical waiting and all of a sudden it becomes a sound strategy. Despite how frustrating these players are, seasoned veterans familiar with all the maps know how to circumvent their malicious ways.

3 Fantastic Level

This is easily one of the game’s finest levels, and simultaneously one the hardest. Maneuvering through all the busted planes while Makarov’s soldiers battle Shepherd’s forces is thrilling. What’s less exciting is all the times enemies shoot the player in the back. One is advised to take it slow, but it is difficult to do this when Price is yelling over the radio to hurry up.

2 Bye Bye Work

Modern technology has greatly increased homework efficiency. Instead of spending countless hours at the library sorting through printed sources, One can easily find reliable materials on the Internet for school work. The downside, however, is the ease at which the work can go up in smoke at the push of a button. Younger relatives less knowledgable with computers can accidentally destroy all the hard work without even realizing it.

1 Uh-Oh

Just the thought of this idea makes anyone who played Modern Warfare 2 sweat like Ted Striker while he is attempting the emergency landing in Airplane!. While one can go through the first half of the “No Russian” mission without firing at civilians, the second half makes the player shoot at security forces and police officers. The only way to escape being tried for war crimes in this case is to opt out of the mission when starting a new game.
