The reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a hit with fans and while there have been some issues, many are still enjoying the game almost a year after its initial release. The commercially successful Modern Warfare has managed to keep players engaged through a range of updates which have made the game more consistent. However, there have been tricks and exploits that have been uncovered and the latest will help players avoid being shot.
Modern Warfare has managed to cultivate an audience by utilizing the tried and tested mechanics of the Call of Duty franchise alongside new game modes such as Warzone. The latest trick that has been found in the game seems to apply to all game modes and Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro has unveiled the trick before the Call of Duty League Playoffs. At the moment it is unclear whether steps will be taken to stop this pretty effective trick, or if it will become commonplace.
Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro is having an incredible season on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and this new trick has been discovered from spending an enormous amount of time on the game. To avoid enemy gunfire players can jump around the area by using a series of actions. Players simply need to sprint and slide, before quickly canceling the action and then lying down followed by quickly jumping. The Call of Duty league player advised players to “just spam it” and while it may look like it is not doing too much on the player’s screen, the opposition will struggle to focus on the player’s movements because of the way the animations interact with one and other.
It is unclear whether this move will be regulated in the upcoming Call of Duty League competitions or if this will become a widely accepted strategy. However, the technique called the “belly flop” will probably be attempted throughout the non-competitive game modes of Modern Warfare and players may wish to familiarize themselves with it. The trick does not seem to leave players vulnerable and, as long as they can do the actions in quick succession, they should be able to gain an advantage on opponents who will struggle to track their animations.
Players are constantly looking for new tactics in Modern Warfare and many will be keen to utilize a technique that is approved by a professional. With this in mind, it will be interesting to see how successful the majority of players are with this technique and whether Infinity Ward will seek to stop the animation trick.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
