One of the skins added to Modern Warfare as a part of the Season 3 update looks suspiciously like a character from Tiger King.
Many of us around the world are held up in our homes right now as we wait for this COVID-19 craziness to blow over. Thankfully, Netflix and Infinity Ward released two highly addictive things just at the right time to keep us occupied. Tiger King from the former, and Call of Duty: Warzone from the latter.
Now it appears that there has been a collaboration of sorts. Or at least that’s what some fans of the show and the game seem to believe. Infinity Ward added its Season 3 update to Modern Warfare last week and with it came a whole bunch of new stuff. Items, maps, you name it. However, it’s a new skin added to the game that has caught the eye of Tiger King fans.
The shirtless Operator Yegor skin looks suspiciously similar to Tiger King’s John Finlay. Finlay is ever-present throughout all seven episodes of Tiger King, as well as the follow-up after-show hosted by Joel McHale that dropped on Netflix last weekend. The zookeeper was one of three husbands to Joe Exotic viewers have the opportunity to become acquainted with during the doc.
As you can see in the photo above, Finlay would not be hard to find in a crowd. That’s providing he didn’t have a shirt on, of course. The Tiger King star is covered in tattoos, as is the Yegor skin added to Modern Warfare last week. Someone will need to take a closer took at Yegor’s tattoos to see how much of an homage the skin is to the Netflix show, if at all.
Chances are this is just one big coincidence. It might feel as if Tiger King has been talked to death for months on end, but its popularity only really blew up over the past couple of weeks. It would have been quick and impressive work from Infinity Ward to create a Finlay-inspired skin in such a short amount of time. Now, if a skin is added down the road sporting a blonde mullet and a leopard-print satin jacket, we might well reconsider that stance.
