The reboot of Call of Duty Modern Warfare has been received positively and has managed to cultivate a large and loyal fanbase. The commercial success of Call of Duty Modern Warfare is partly due to its frequent updates which fix issues and adds new content. The most recent update to the title marked the beginning of Season 4 in the game and alongside a host of updates, it also delivered a road map for what the future holds for the first-person shooter.
The Call of Duty franchise has managed to retain the attention of players by utilizing a range of historical and contemporary battles alongside quality mechanics. Despite the well-regarded mechanics, Infinity Ward has had to address in the reboot of Modern Warfare and it seems that the developer is continuing to do so in Season 4. On tip of some needed fixes, there are also new maps, weaponry, and operators arriving soon.
Many players will have been pleased that Captain Price is now a selectable operator alongside a new gunfight map “Trench” and a multiplayer map “Scrapyard” and it seems that there is plenty more to come. The roadmap indicates that players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be able to use two new operators called Gaz and Roze soon. There will also new multiplayer modes as well as a new map to accompany them called “Cheshire Park”. Although fresh ways to play and new maps seem to be pleasing fans, there is a particularly popular feature in this road map. The inclusion of an anti-material rifle, the RYTEC ARMR, seems to have got players excited as it is used to shoot down airborne vehicles.
The roadmap also outlines plans to bring in new perks for Warzone which will please fans of the popular free-to-play battle royale game mode. Many fans have wondered about what features would come to Warzone and with the updates that have been listed, they will likely be largely happy. With that said, some players may wonder what the “more” that the roadmap states will be and how it will impact their experience of the title in all modes.
Many players are currently enjoying the Season 4 updates in Modern Warfare and will look forward to more content being delivered in the future. It will be interesting to see how Infinity Ward will keep the game fresh and entertaining but the developer has already showcased that it has plenty of content since the launch of the title. Many will hope that this stream of content continues beyond this roadmap.
