Since Telltale Games closed its studio suddenly last September, the dominoes have continued to fall, from lawsuits by former developers to games becoming unavailable for purchase entirely. The latter has been confirmed to add a new victim, as another one of the defunct studio’s narrative-driven adventures will soon be removed from the online market by the end of this month. Starting on June 25th, Seasons 1 and 2 of Minecraft: Story Mode will be delisted from all online retailers....

It has been a good week for Minecraft and its developer, Mojang. Mojang recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, announced a new AR Pokemon GO-like mobile game called Minecraft Earth and now, in a post on Microsoft’s official website, creative director Saxs Persson revealed that, since it’s release in 2009, the sandbox title has sold at least 176 million copies worldwide. “This is an incredibly exciting time for Minecraft. Ten years ago today, the game launched on PC,” wrote Persson, “Now, Minecraft has sold more than 176 million copies to-date in virtually every country in the world....

A sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet was in the works before reportedly being cancelled by Google. The Journey to the Savage Planet sequel was in development for Stadia by Typhoon Studios before being shut down by the tech giant. In the original game, players set out to the planet ARY-26 for exploration and combat. By researching various flora and defeating dangerous creatures, fans could unlock gear to traverse deeper into the alien world....

Jump Force, the fun-but-flawed anime fighter, just got a little patch that goes a long way. The patch doesn’t add any new items, characters, or modes. It doesn’t include some line of code that leaks one of the game’s nine DLC fighters. All it does is make the game run faster. But honestly, that’s the greatest thing that can happen to Jump Force right now. The patch, labeled 1.03, is live on PC and PS4....

Oh good, another pirate game. So what will set King of Seas apart from the current best pirate game, Sea of Thieves? Well, for starters, it’s not a first-person pirate simulator. King of Seas has more in common with Sid Meyer’s Pirates! than it does with Rare’s game. The focus is more on naval combat from an overhead view, with ships firing multiple cannons simultaneously rather than firing what few cannons a crew of four can load at a time....

Square Enix is as impatient as Kingdom Hearts fans, it seems. Monday morning saw the release of Kingdom Hearts 3’s most recent trailer, available a full day prior to what had been previously announced. Titled the “Final Battle Trailer,” the spoiler-filled video will more than adequately make clear that Kingdom Hearts 3 is entering endgame territory for the series. Light, darkness, life, and death are all at stake in this final battle for Kingdom Hearts....

Kingdom Hearts Dark Road has been out for a week and fans are already tired of it. Its small amount of release content and repetitive gameplay have given players little to be excited about, even with more on the way. Dark Road centers on a young Master Xehanort before he becomes the Seeker of Darkness. At the start of his adventure, he travels around Disney worlds with other keyblade wielders, including a young Master Eraqus, to find missing students from Scala ad Caelum....

In Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, you play as the “Fateless One,” a hero unique in the world for his ability to change the fates of others however he or she sees fit. So it’s ironic that, given the opportunity to do whatever they wanted with this last-gen cult classic from 2012, developer Kaiko and publisher THQ Nordic did so little to improve the experience for the remaster. Honestly, it’s a struggle to even note much of an update to the graphics....

Affable game designer Cliff Bleszinski took to the stage at E3 2017’s PC Games Showcase to finally deliver the official release date for Lawbreakers, a game which has been in public eye for about two years now. Standing alongside popular eSports commentator Day9, Bleszinski acquiesced to a crowd-powered drumroll before delivering the news that Lawbreakers will be coming to PC and PlayStation 4 on August 8, 2017. Although the price point of Lawbreakers had already been revealed, Bleszinski reiterated that the cost of the title would still come at a very reasonable $29....

There’s been a slight bump in the road for the Legally Blonde franchise, as it too grinds against the inevitable delays caused by the worldwide pandemic. The third film, Legally Blonde 3, was set to release in February of next year, but that release date has proved untenable and MGM has announced their intent to delay the film a whole year. Currently, the film is scheduled to hit theaters in May of 2022, when the pandemic, hopefully, will have faded....

Star Wars has been a cultural phenomenon since Episode 4: A New Hope released in 1977, and the “Skywalker Saga” it kicked off officially concluded with the release of Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Similarly, LEGO video game adaptations of the series have become a cornerstone of the industry, with the original LEGO Star Wars turning 15 years old in April 2020. That franchise will soon have its own blockbuster conclusion to the films’ overarching story with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, currently scheduled to release in spring 2021....

Marvel’s Secret Invasion Disney+ series has gone into production per Samuel L. Jackson’s Instagram account. “Star Samuel L. Jackson has revealed on Instagram that Marvel’s Secret Invasion TV show has officially begun production.
