Their subconscious/spirits are brought to an ancestral plane and it’s there they learn the truth about magic from the ancestors. They are tasked with casting Hannah’s spell, which will use Christina’s spell against her to take magic from the Braithwhites. The ancestors help Tic and Leti heal Dee, then send them back to their bodies to enact their plan....

The big news, however, is that Lakitu – the longtime Mario Kart “referee” – is now a playable character. Recent reports suggest that Microsoft and Destiny 2 developer Bungie have discussed the initial terms of a possible acquisition agreement. According to Venturebeat’s Jeff Grubb, Microsoft and Bungie representatives have spoken a few times regarding the possibility of Microsoft acquiring the studio and officially bringing them back into the fold. Eurogamer also reports that their own sources have confirmed that initial discussions between the two parties have occurred. Based on the information that’s currently available, it sounds like those negotiations haven’t progressed much....

Jennifer Connelly is flying high these days on the big screen, both literally and figuratively. Starring opposite Tom Cruise in one of his signature roles, Connelly is the second lead in Top Gun: Maverick, a film which just shattered the Memorial Day box office record with a $160 million haul. Alex Trebek, a TV institution and trivia pioneer as the longtime host of the game show Jeopardy!, has died at the age of 80. The show made the announcement via its Twitter account on Sunday afternoon: “Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex.” A cause of death was not immediately made available but Trebek had been publicly battling pancreatic cancer after receiving a stage 4 diagnosis in March 2019....

Den of Geek was recently invited to play Velan Studios’ Knockout City, a competitive, team-based, over-the-top take on dodgeball set to drop as a new EA Original. The game releases May 21 for $19.99 on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, and is backwards compatible on Xbox Series X/S and PS5. In addition, there is cross-play and cross-progression functionality across all platforms, too. It’s clear, then, that Knockout City is EA‘s latest attempt to tap into a very competitive online multiplayer market after the success of Apex Legends....

Although early, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta has had several issues noticed by fans. While some in-game issues are minor, with many fans expecting changes before a full release, one Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War complaint keeps resurfacing as the Beta continues. Although it was not seen in the Alpha, the developers made a slight change to the in-game lobbies. This change is thought to complement Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s skill-based matchmaking, or SBMM for short....

The latest patch for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has accidentally introduced a new bug into the game. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla released towards the end of last year and has received consistent patches to improve the in-game experience. While most of the bugs found in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have been fairly small, there are some that have caused more than a bit of an inconvenience – be this Eivor continually waking up drunk or quest icons not loading on to the player’s map in order to advance the story....

Earlier this year, we learned that Activision plans to remake a handful of its older titles, and according to a recent leak, it appears as if those plans have already been set in motion. A remastered version of 2001’s Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex is already well into development, and if the leak is accurate, we might see it as early as this year. A Twitter user by the name of TheGamingRevolution is responsible for the leak, tweeting out several unannounced upcoming Activision games....

Zombie fans and fantasy fans now have a unique studio collaboration to look forward to. League of Legends Designer Kimberly Voll teamed up with Left 4 Dead writer Chet Faliszek to form the Stray Bombay Company, the duo announced in a blog post. The blog post relates how Faliszek realized games could change people’s lives for the better. He once got an e-mail from a person stationed in Iraq who was having difficulties with his marriage, for obvious reasons – he was far away, in a dangerous situation and he and his wife missed each other....

Everyone loves Mario. He’s one of the most endearing and cherished video game characters of all time. There’s just something pure about Nintendo’s silly plumber man. He jumps, he flips, he takes mushrooms, he eats flowers, he screams “WAHOO!” at the top of his lungs as he crushes the skull of a Goomba beneath his feet, etc. He’s the Mickey Mouse of video games and he’ll live on forever.
