Wizards of the Coast has unveiled the newest update to the Banned and Restricted list for Magic: The Gathering. A total of eight cards have been banned, while one card will be allowed back into the Pioneer format. Magic: The Gathering has had a few different updates in the past two months. Ever since the character’s solo debut in Super Mario Bros., Mario games have sold over 600 million copies as of 2019. It’s by far the highest-selling video game franchise of all-time and is the ninth highest-grossing media franchise ever. That level of success will probably never be reached by any other video game. Marvel Entertainment is producing a line of original podcast shows exclusively with SiriusXM. The catalog of audio shows will consist of new scripted and documentary series as well as ongoing podcasts. Among the line up of new podcasts will be Marvel’s Wastelanders, a multi-part scripted series focusing on older heroes including Star-Lord, Grey Widow, Old Man Hawkeye, and Old Man Logan. The series is currently scheduled to premiere exclusively on SiriusXM in 2021....

DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran may have outlined the new slate of projects that make up the “first part of the first chapter” of the revamped DCU this week, but there are still quite a few question left to be answered, particularly when it comes to the DC films greenlit by Gunn and Safran’s predecessors. The Metro series went in a new direction with Metro Exodus and its massive, open world-like locations, and it seems like developer 4A Games is looking to evolve the series even further with the next entry in the post-apocalyptic universe. In a post celebrating the studio’s 10-year anniversary, a Metro multiplayer game has been confirmed to be in development. 4A Games was recently acquired by THQ Nordic’s parent group, with plans in place to continue the Metro series as well as kick off new franchises....
A Microsoft program manager who has worked on the Xbox team calls the PS5 reveal “unfortunate.” Sony was criticized by some fans for the way that it officially confirmed the PS5’s specs as it was incredibly technical and didn’t confirm some of the information that they wanted. Advertising is often about stretching the truth to create a certain image, but two mobile game ads bear so little resemblance to their games that the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has officially banned their use. The ASA, which is the UK’s regulator of advertising, declared that ads for Homescapes and Gardenscapes by developer Playrix should not be used again for promoting their game.
