Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix first teased their Avengers video game project all the way back in 2017, with a cryptic trailer that suggested terrible things had happened to the beloved superhero team. With Crystal Dynamics having developed the critically-acclaimed Tomb Raider reboot series, expectations were high for the project, even with relatively little information to go on. Then Square Enix properly unveiled Marvel’s Avengers at E3 2019, and public opinion seemed to dip, with many fans unimpressed by the character designs and the games’ live-service elements....

At this point, 12 years in, if a new fan wanted to get completely up to date with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they would have to watch 23 two-hour-ish movies, well over 400 hours of television, a handful of digital shorts, and most importantly, that Guardians of the Galaxy music video. Marvel Studios seems to have suddenly become aware of that as, after a year-long pandemic break, it finally prepares to spin up its next programming block, code-named Phase 4....

The early trial of Mass Effect: Andromeda for EA Early Access and Origin members has certainly thrown some interesting curveballs, with the title’s awkward facial animations drawing plenty of comment to say the least. Square Enix has launched a new website for Final Fantasy 16, which finally introduces the upcoming game’s protagonist and world to fans all over the globe. Final Fantasy 16 was announced during the PS5 event back in September, following months of rumors and leaks. A brief trailer of Final Fantasy 16 shown at the event revealed a return to the fantasy setting of older titles in the series, along with iconic elements like Ifrit and Phoenix....

That is by being the first game developed by Telltale Games that allows users to actually choose the race and gender of the playable character....

Ray Fisher’s allegations about abuse of power on the set of Justice League continue to get more serious, and there’s no sign that the young actor, who played Cyborg in the film, is likely to back down any time soon. Fisher alleges that director Joss Whedon and producers Jon Berg and Geoff Johns behaved poorly during the Justice League production, and that attempts were made by studio executives to cover for them....

Despite the idea already falling flat, Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli continues to defend the European Super League by comparing it to popular video games. Social media allows people to oppose ideas more vociferously than ever before, and that is often viewed as a bad thing. However, the backlash toward plans for a European Super League that were announced over the weekend has provided the perfect example that Twitter isn’t always an infinite pit of negativity....

Killer7 stands as the usual kind of game that comes from designer Suda51, a beloved cult hit that fans will take with any system. With recent rumors swirling about a possible Switch port of Killer7, fans of Suda51’s offbeat shooter got excited. Now, it seems those hopes have been dashed. Engine Software, the developer responsible for porting Killer7 to the PC in 2018, has confirmed that it is not porting Grasshopper Manufacture’s PlayStation 2 and GameCube original to the Nintendo Switch....
