During a live stream celebrating the Mana series’ 30th anniversary, producer Masaru Oyamada revealed that a new game in the series is in development. The last game in the series launched a year ago in 2020, and it was a remake of Trials of Mana as pictured above. The original game that it’s a remake of launched back in 1995. In total, the series only has four main games, with the latest original entry releasing back in 2006 with Dawn of Mana....

The first three Mass Effect games featured a Paragon and Renegade system — essentially how good or bad Shepard was — and Mass Effect 2 and 3 allowed the player to interrupt certain conversations with Paragon or Renegade actions. Mass Effect: Andromeda removed the Paragon vs. Renegade binary. It was probably for the best: 90% of players chose to be Paragon, because the stat is tied into Shepard’s conversational abilities, and if you chose a little Renegade and a little Paragon, you’d never get a high enough stat to be charming or intimidating....
BioWare today revealed plans to rework the original Mass Effect’s combat system in the upcoming Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. The team is hoping to bring it up to speed with later entries in the franchise while staying true to the “spirit of the original games.” Combat in Mass Effect became more action-packed as the series progressed. One aspect of Mass Effect 2 that makes it such a great game is the mission quality. From beginning to end, there are very few duds. And while the loyalty missions get plenty of plaudits, the initial recruitment assignments deserve some praise too. These are the ones where you meet some of the most capable specialists in the galaxy and get them to join your cause. They serve as a great introduction to the characters you’ll be with for most of the game....

Microsoft has once again spilled the beans on their upcoming plans for the next Xbox, which is operating under the codename Durango. According to a job posting for Microsoft, the publisher and software creator is looking for a Marketing Manager to help usher in a new age of Microsoft products and software that would include Office, Windows, and the next Xbox. Microsoft is sweetening the deal on its Xbox One S bundles, announcing that all 1TB bundles will now feature the addition of a free game of the buyer’s choosing. The announcement was made today via the Xbox Wire blog, revealing that bundles including the Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Halo Wars 2 Xbox One S bundles will now include an additional game.
