Augmented reality and alternate reality gaming may not yet be the must-have gaming mechanics that proponents promised, but both certainly have potential in the future of gaming. Microsoft gave us some interesting tech demos for the Xbox One’s Kinect, particularly through the IllumiRoom and follow-up concept RoomAlive, and is still showing support for augmented reality through its HoloLens project. Meanwhile, Square Enix recently launched the Can’t Kill Progress ARG for the upcoming Deux Ex: Mankind Divided....

Takara Tomy, a Japanese toy manufacturer, is currently producing a massive Kirby plushie. The pink alien hero, who stars in the action-platformer game series developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, is fan favorite. The giant Kirby plushie, which measures 60cm wide, 38cm tall, and 80cm long, can be used a pillow, laptop cushion or cuddle toy. Made to order, pre-orders of the Kirby plushie are available in Japan until February 28....

Nevertheless, the action role-playing game set in the medieval kingdom of Bohemia previously reached 500K in sales, which prompted game director Daniel Vavra to state that selling over a million copies would be favorable. It seems his wish has been fulfilled. According to a report from Lupa, the game has officially sold over 1 million copies....

Kingdom Hearts 3 remains a popular game for discussion, however many of the game’s details have yet to be revealed. While there has been information provided about the new worlds, the developers have remained quiet about certain aspects of the game. But even amidst a lot of the secrecy, Square Enix is willing to tease a few things, like the keyblade transformations that will be in the game. There have already been multiple hints at the possibility of keyblade transformations in the earlier Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers so this concept should not be new to many fans....

In a move that surprised attendees and audiences alike, Square Enix premiered a new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer at the Xbox E3 press conference this afternoon that focuses on the new world from the hit film Frozen. The trailer begins with Sora, Donald, and Goofy attempting to adjust to the cold conditions in the Frozen world and fighting Heartless, before they eventually meet with the characters from the film, including Anna, Kristoff, Sven the reindeer, the lovable snowman Olaf, and Queen Elsa....

EA has announced that Knockout City will allow new players to play the game for free up until Rank 25. This news follows the closure of the game’s launch “Block Party” which allowed players to jump in for free and try the game out for 10 days. Now it seems that new players can download the game and keep playing until they hit Level 25, no matter how much time that takes....

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has been out since November 10 and has had its fair share of updates and cosmetics since launch, such as the Draugr bundle. A brand new set has just been leaked which shows off some fiery, MMO-looking demonic gear. According to Reddit user thebradster94x, this brand new set will come with a couple of fire-based bonuses fitting to the visuals. When your weapon is ignited, you’ll receive health upon being hit and, on top of that, the weapon will do bonus damage....

Mario Golf: Super Rush is a pretty great golf game. The motion controls are solid and it’s easy to pick up and play in a group, while the button play adds more depth and allows you to refine your game without needing to stand up and make a fool of yourself when there’s no one else around to enjoy it. Golf is a very meticulous sport, and for that reason, I’ve always struggled with the more serious golf sims that go for arcane interpretations of the sport’s minutiae....

Bruce Banner in the Marvel’s Avengers game is a bit more timid and soft spoken than he is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s good considering this is a hero that started in comics decades upon decades ago. Seeing multiple versions of Bruce and Hulk help keep the characters fresh. Another thing that helps keep things lively is the comedy in this game. There are some laugh out loud moments. These come from actual dialogue along with weird moments too perfect not to turn into memes and these ten memes are the best out there so far....
