The English version of mobile gacha game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story will be shutting down after only fifteen months of operation on September 29 at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time. The news officially broke on Twitter this past Friday on the English game’s official account. The tweet simply shared an image announcing the game would be “ceasing all operations” at the end of the month. The creators thanked fans for supporting the game since its release last June....

History has been made, as Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War tops Star Wars: The Force Awakens with record-breaking opening weekend box-office numbers. Because of its unprecedented success, the inter-web is buzzing about what will happen next in the MCU, specifically the untitled Avengers 4. Officially, Avengers: Infinity War took in a whopping estimate of $640 million globally, with approximately $260 million of that taking place domestically. These numbers are setting world records, reinforcing the fact that Kevin Feige and crew know what they’re doing when it comes to making comic book movies....

Marvel’s Avengers looks to have even more exclusive content based on leaked skins that appeared on Reddit on August 8. The collaborations will seemingly be between Verizon, Virgin Media, and Intel. Marvel’s Avengers, which is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, the same team behind the new Tomb Raider games, is set to drop on September 4....

In a recent interview, creative director Mac Walters confirms that players won’t be seeing every one of their favorite alien races in Mass Effect Andromeda. Mass Effect Andromeda continues to be somewhat of an enigma for fans, as BioWare appears to be taking its sweet time fully revealing the title. The community has already pored over the first trailer and a few details in a recent cover story, but certain things like biotic powers, a release date, and actual gameplay footage have continued to be held back....

Mass Effect: Andromeda has seen a mixed reception to say the least, and the response to the game upon release has caused some changes behind the scenes. According to reports, the Mass Effect series in general is now going to be placed on hiatus, with other projects set to be prioritized over a follow-up to the recent sci-fi RPG. The news comes courtesy of Kotaku, revealing that BioWare is not set to put a team immediately onto the sequel to Mass Effect: Andromeda....

It goes without saying that video game film adaptations have historically been poorly-received, with Assassin’s Creed and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter being the latest entries in a long line of critically-panned video game movies. But if the words of Jordan Vogt-Roberts, director of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, are to be believed, there are a few reasons why video game film adaptations have generally been terrible. In a new interview with GameSpot, Vogt-Roberts shared his thoughts on why video game film adaptations have not been great over the last few years, saying that he believes filmmakers have very little desire to commit to the source material and thus ultimately end up making a movie that doesn’t capture the tone of what made the original video game great....

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially announced that the prolific American voice actor Troy Baker is set to reprise his role as the main character Talion in the upcoming open-world action-adventure game Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Those interested in hearing Baker’s sonorous pipes pour through Talion once more can get a taste of his performance from the title’s announcement trailer. Interestingly enough, Troy Baker will not only be lending his vocal abilities to the production process of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, but also he has taken on extended duties as the game’s Performance Capture Director....

Warner Bros. Interactive shared a new trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War today focusing on one of the game’s factions of orcs. The new “Terror Tribe” trailer could be a heavy metal music video, focusing on short action clips and Orc power poses, but as with many of Shadow of War’s trailers, the somewhat shallow content of the trailer teases the more complex gameplay systems running behind the scenes. The Terror Tribe is just one of many orc factions based in Mordor....

Trying to get a PS5 console has been a nightmare for anyone that wasn’t lucky enough to snag one during pre-orders or at launch, so any news of a restock is often met with great enthusiasm. The latest chance that players have to get their hands on the highly sought after next gen consoles comes courtesy of Meijers, a midwest US retail store. Meijers claims that it will start stocking PS5 consoles in store very soon, and that prospective buyers should check local stores occasionally for a sign indicating how much PS5 stock the store has remaining....

As descriptive as a title Minecraft is, it does leave out one activity in the game just as robust as both mining and crafting, if not moreso. That is, of course, farming. The game allows you to flex your green thumb as much as any other farming game, perhaps excluding the hardcore simulators. But while Minecraft may air on the more simple side when it comes to raising crops, there are a few items, such as cocoa beans, that take a bit more planning than just throwing them in the dirt and waiting....

Back in the day, Wing Commander was the undisputed king of PC gaming. Well, outside of Command & Conquer, and MechWarrior 2, and Myst, and SimCity… Y’know what? There were a lot of great games in the mid-’90s, but Wing Commander was special. For starters, it wasn’t just one game. It was a whole franchise that spanned a dozen games and expansions, along with an animated television series, a collectible card game, a novel series, and even a Hollywood-produced movie....

Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan has more news for players about upcoming hero changes. This time, his focus was on the hero Moira and on combating negative smurfing. Smurfing is a term used in the Overwatch community to refer to experienced players who create new accounts so they can easily win matches against new players. Kaplan addressed the phenomenon in a recent question-and-answer session, saying that Blizzard “hates” the way smurfing can be used to throw games and manipulate the system....

There’s a new Star Wars show on the way, but it won’t be on Disney+. The new program will air on Youtube and star Ahmed Best, the actor behind Jar Jar Binks. It’s okay, though, Jar Jar isn’t making a live-action return. The show is called Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge. It’s a kids game show where contestants play as Padawans undergoing a trial. The winners will apparently be named Jedi Knights and get lightsabers of their very own....
