Microsoft is looking to get an early start on preparations for E3 2019. There have been a lot of developers who have decided to ditch this year’s E3 ceremony for various reasons. Some companies like EA is planning its own private show in the form of EA Play. Meanwhile, Sony says it’s skipping the event due to a lack of big games, although it may also be because they’re not quite ready to unveil the PlayStation 5....

Mighty No. 9 attempts to breath fresh life into the 2D platforming genre but it lacks the polish and magic that made Inafune’s iconic series such a staple of 90s gaming. Mighty No. 9 is a crowdfunded project that has put its backers through a rollercoaster of emotions. Teased as a spiritual successor to the Mega Man franchise and helmed by series creator Keiji Inafune, the project reached its funding goal, but its production was littered with delays and bad press....

Kobold Press, a creator of super fine tabletop roleplaying game content, is bringing you yet another TTRPG sourcebook to add to your library. The company recently launched its Kickstarter adventure for Southlands, A Realm of High Adventure for the fifth edition of the world’s most popular tabletop roleplaying game. No surprise, Southlands went north of its $50,000 goal in about three hours, and still has 29 days remaining as of this writing....

It appears that Kickstarter backers will have the protection of the legal system if successfully crowd-funded projects go sour — at least if Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson has anything to do with it. Ferguson has filed the first-ever US consumer-protection lawsuit regarding crowdfunding. The case has been filed against Edward Polchlepek and his company Altius Management, who raised over $25,000 for a playing card game called Asylum. The Nashville-based entertainment and artist management company allegedly failed to deliver any rewards and products to the 810 backers of their project — including 31 backers from Washington State....

A strange update has been added to Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory which introduces a five-second cutscene that provides a greater amount of context on the game’s conclusion. SPOILERS FOR KINGDOM HEARTS: MELODY OF MEMORY As you enter the Final World near the end of Melody of Memory, a cutscene triggers with Ansem and Ienzo. The screen cuts to static, and the two are scrambling to shut something down. During the events of the rhythm game, the duo is helping Kairi search through her memories to find a way to save Sora....

Photos of Hideo Kojima on Twitter show the developer researching what appears to be the motion capture technology of some of Sony’s Los Angeles studios. Hideo Kojima and PlayStation 4 architect Mark Cerny traveled around the world a couple of months back in search of high-end technology, presumably to be used in game development. Well, Kojima is back at it again, this time visiting various Sony-owned motion capture studios. Kojima reunited with Cerny at these studios, and even though he tweeted a picture of himself and Cerny claiming to be in a “secret location,” his other tweets paint a bigger picture....
