According to a new report released today by Forbes, the American YouTube personality and Hawaiian-born Mark “Markiplier” Fischback is currently the most influential gamer in the world. The YouTuber has managed to be ranked above a slew of other online gaming personalities, with the well-known Swedish gamer Pewdiepie taking the second slot on the outlet’s list of top gaming influencers. In order for Markiplier to have made the cut, Forbes crunched some data to determine how wide his reach is, with the outlet having partnered with the analytics firm Traacker to measure such information as audience size, current relevance, and the amount of engagement related to his field....

It seems that the rumored ‘Leviathan’ campaign DLC has been confirmed by one of the offering’s voice actors, implying previous details are also accurate. Microsoft is taking aim at Apple with the incoming Windows 11 update. Not only has Microsoft changed the way the Microsoft Store looks, but they’ve also changed the way they share revenue with app developers. Besides the cleaner presentation and easier to browse search functionality, Microsoft gave its store two big changes. First, they’re allowing more apps. This past Thursday, developer Creative Assembly made its most recent game available for free on the Epic Games Store for 24 hours. Epic users could download A Total War Saga: Troy at no cost, unlocking the game permanently. Considering Total War: Troy is a $50 game, that’s an outstanding deal. Apparently Epic users agree, because Creative Assembly has since confirmed that the game has been claimed by 7.5 million people....

Minecraft DLC will still be released on PS4, despite the console not supporting the Better Together update. The Better Together update introduces cross-platform play to the PC, mobile, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game, but Sony “refused” to be part of it. In a blog post published earlier this week by Minecraft developer Mojang, it confirmed that it would not be “twiddling [its] thumbs” in preparation of the Better Together update and that it has much more content in the works....

It seems like an eternity ago — but it’s only been three years — that Universal Studios’ proposed “Dark Universe” collapsed after its disastrous debut with The Mummy. The Persona series had a massive year in 2020, with the success of Persona 5 Royal and the PC port of Persona 4 Golden. With the series’ 25th anniversary coming up later this year, fans are excited about the prospect of a Persona 6 announcement as well. Unfortunately, even if Persona 6 ends up getting confirmed, it’ll likely be a few years away from a Western release. Kingdom Hearts has been around for a long time now — since 2002 to be exact. In that time, our hero, Sora, has donned many different outfits. Thanks to the fact that Kingdom Hearts features worlds from Disney, Pixar, and of course, Final Fantasy, he has been able to try on all sorts of amazing outfits in his long run time. Square Enix revealed that Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory would be getting a playable demo back during the 2020 Tokyo Game Show, but it didn’t share many details about the project outside of that. The developer only revealed that the demo would release sometime in mid-October and that it currently only had plans to release it in Japan — though, it’s considering a Western release as well. Now, more details concerning the Melody of Memory demo have come out, but Square Enix wasn’t the one to release the information....

Over the past few weeks, gamers have been clamoring for increased difficulty in Kingdom Hearts 3, whether by rebalancing the game through patches or introducing the previously included “Critical Mode” as an extra challenge. A twitter user, however, has found that a version of Critical Mode already exists in the game’s files. “I can’t fully confirm it,” he wrote, “… but the mode makes it seem like you deal double damage but you get double the damage from Proud....

The strange union of Final Fantasy and Disney characters has one of the most dedicated fanbases in gaming today.
