Capcom producer Tomoaki Ayano reveals a more specific release window for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, indicating that the game will release in late 2017. One of the biggest surprises of the 2016 PlayStation Experience was the announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Even more surprising was that the game was far enough along in development that Capcom was able to confirm a 2017 release for the long-awaited fighting game. Masaaki Yamagiwa, who produced Bloodborne, Deracine, and Tokyo Jungle, has announced that he’s leaving Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Japan Studio at the end of the month, though he hasn’t detailed what his future plans will be. “I’m leaving Sony Interactive Entertainment at the end of this month,” Yamagiwa wrote on Twitter. “I’m going to continue working hard on creating games. Many thanks to everyone!” Yamagiwa’s departure is the latest in a series of high-profile partings at SIE’s Japan Studio....

Earlier this week, EA confirmed that Mass Effect: Andromeda developer BioWare Montreal would be joining EA Motive, which is currently making Star Wars Battlefront 2. The news followed a poor reception to Andromeda, as well as huge uncertainty over the future of the Mass Effect franchise. While many have had something to say about the merger, one former developer from the studio has now weighed in as well. Manveer Heir was a gameplay designer on Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect: Andromeda prior to leaving BioWare Montreal not long before the game released....

The announcement of the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a remaster of the entire Mass Effect trilogy, won’t be a surprise to most fans. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t any less anticipated, of course. Mass Effect fans across all platforms will be anxiously awaiting the bundle’s release in spring 2021. In an unfortunate turn, however, it seems that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition won’t be directly released on either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X....

Metal Gear Solid is having a reunion thanks to SteamDolls: Order of Chaos. David Hayter and Christopher Randolph are getting back together. The two haven’t starred in the same video game since 2010’s Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, with David Hayter playing the voice of Big Boss and Christopher Randolph reprising his role as Otacon. Now these two video game icons will be reunited in the upcoming release of SteamDolls: Order of Chaos, a new Metroidvania game from Paris-based Top Hat Studios....

While previous confirmations by Sony had confirmed that the PS4 would not be making an appearance during this year’s E3, popular opinion was still holding out hope that Microsoft would unveil their new console, codenamed Durango, during their press conference. Unfortunately, Microsoft has now put the nail in that coffin; outright saying there will be no new console present during the event’s proceedings. Much like Sony, Microsoft still believes their current gen console is still very viable, and would want to do nothing to hurt sales of that machine....

Love the Mission: Impossible movies but hate games based on movies? Us too. With Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol coming to theaters this holiday, normally we’d not be looking forward to the tie-in video game but that’s the case with this franchise this time. Instead, Funtactix worked with Paramount Pictures to put together a Mission: Impossible Facebook game where players have opportunities to win movie passes, DVDs and other cool stuff....

Modern Warfare 3 just became backward compatible for the Xbox One, allowing Call of Duty fans to eagerly jump back into the 7-year-old title. Interestingly, this now makes Modern Warfare 2 the only last-gen Call of Duty title not available via backward compatibility (not counting Call of Duty Classic, which released much later on Xbox 360 and still isn’t available on Xbox One), causing speculation to rise up once again about a remastered version of (arguably) the most-loved entry in the series....

Developer Halfbrick Studios recently revealed the sequel to its classic side-scrolling endless runner Jetpack Joyride. Jetpack Joyride 2: Bullet Rush soft-launched February 6 in select markets. The mobile game is available now from Google Play and the App Store in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Halfbrick plans to release the game worldwide in the next few months, although an exact date is still to be determined. If the title Jetpack Joyride doesn’t ring any bells, it’s probably because of the game’s age, initially releasing in 2011....

It’s been nearly 30 years since Jurassic Park made its debut, with Stephen Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park in 1993. That film both terrified and delighted audiences around the globe and one could argue it made multiple generations of children want to become archaeologists. Of course, there’s also a whole new set of films that have been released now, starting with 2015’s Jurassic World. None of the later movies in the series have yet to live up to the quality of the original, but they’re all still great fun....

In The Last of Us Part 2, it seems that different actions have different outcomes when it comes to character dialogue. A new YouTube video posted by Caitlin shows Abby and Lev during one of the final gameplay sequences on the island. They have used this particular sequence to show that if players react differently to the WLF members, the outcome in dialogue from Abby and Lev will be different....
