The Game Kitchen has given fans of the Souls-like platformer Blasphemous the ultimate behind-the-scenes look with a new documentary. The gothic project funded by Kickstarter has been praised since its release in 2019, and now its following will get to see how the Penitent One was created. In our review of Blasphemous, it became apparent that we didn’t have a clue what was going on, but had a blast regardless. Balancing the Souls-like genre with the Metroidvania aesthetic, The Penitent One’s journey across Cvstodia was a rather grim affair, but the game’s design and religious tone had us captivated....

Sony has temporarily closed the LittleBigPlanet servers, as players reported having abusive messages sent to them from hackers. In a short statement on the LittleBigPlanet Twitter account, the company explains it does “not take these attacks lightly, especially when they target our loyal community members.” The LittleBigPlanet community has recently faced an ever growing issue with abusive hackers. Fans had started posting their complaints and findings under #SaveLBP and #FixLBP on Twitter....

Marvel Studios’ Loki was in the midst of production when the COVID-19 pandemic forced Disney to temporarily suspend filming on all of its projects in March. Now, Gugu Mbatha-Raw confirms the Tom Hiddleston series has returned to Atlanta, Georgia, to resume filming. After portraying Loki in the Marvel Cinematic franchise since Thor debuted in theaters in 2011, Tom Hiddleston seemingly bid farewell to the role after the God of Mischief was murdered by Thanos in the opening moments of Avengers: Infinity War....

This past week, actor Ian Holmes passed away at the age of 88. Holmes was best known for his Shakespearean stage work in King Lear and for films including both Alien and Chariots of Fire. But one film role that’s meaningfully impacted its fans in a significant capacity is the role of Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings. In fact, his passing was so effecting to fans that players of The Lord of the Rings Online recently decided to hold a memorial in Holmes’ honor....

When I Am Setsuna released in 2016, the writing was already on the wall—Tokyo RPG Factory’s first title was a carefully honed JRPG that would find a home as a favorite among diehard fans of the genre, but would do little to sway those who weren’t already interested in turn-based combat. The game succeeded where Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory wanted it to, thriving through fans who couldn’t possibly hate its callbacks to genre titans like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, but it also felt like something of a missed opportunity....

Marvel’s Avengers’ version of Spider-Man will have a self-contained story arc that won’t affect the rest of the game.
