While Weir’s second book, Artemis, deviated from that formula, his latest harkens back to The Martian’s formula, just with bigger stakes and one major addition....

Launching in February next year, Little Nightmares 2 looks to expand upon the terrifying base Tarsier Studios first cemented in the original game back in 2017. This time around, players will assume the role of Mono, as they’re joined by returning protagonist Six in a new adventure that takes players to an unsettling new locale in the franchise’s universe. Those who can’t wait to get their hands on the sequel to Tarsier’s original horror gem won’t have to wait much longer, with publisher Bandai Namco announcing that a demo for the title is out right now....

It seems like every new game in the Mario franchise needs to introduce a new character to go along with the aesthetic and gameplay of the title. While some characters have become major mainstays, like Donkey Kong and Yoshi, others have fallen by the wayside and have seemingly been forgotten by Nintendo since their first introduction. On the flip side, there are more than a few characters in the series that have overstayed their welcome and are used more as padding in an already overstuffed roster of characters, rather than bringing anything new or interesting to the table....
Prior to recent delays, Marvel’s Black Widow was nearly on the verge of release. It may come as a surprise, then, that Black Widow’s composer has been replaced very late in the game. Black Widow, Natalia Romanoff’s solo Marvel film, was originally slated to release in May of 2020, but has since been pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film is now slated to release on November 6th, replacing The Eternals’ initial launch date, by which time - hopefully - the COVID-19 pandemic will have burned out....
In recent years, the Avengers have become household names. In fact, the success of the MCU has been so great that even fairly obscure characters like Rocket Raccoon and Erik Killmonger are well-known. These movies have launched the Marvel heroes into the mainstream in the same way that the Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man films popularized the web-slinging wall-crawler. In 2018, the Spider-Man game for PS4 perfectly brought Peter Parker to life. Soon, the Avengers will also get their own video game, scheduled for release on September 4, 2020....
At E3 2019, developer Crystal Dynamics finally showcased its forthcoming action-adventure title, Marvel’s Avengers. However, other than the reveal that Marvel’s Avengers is a loot-based game with gear customization, not much was said concerning the gameplay and 4-player co-op element of the game until the game’s official E3 Coliseum panel. Several developers took to the stage where the two aforementioned elements were discussed to some detail, though a full-length explanation of either wasn’t exactly provided....
Marvel just had its gaming panel at San Diego Comic-Con, giving fans and press alike a more comprehensive look at the actual gameplay of Marvel’s Avengers. The Square Enix-published game was revealed to cries of “meh” during E3, so this showing had to pack something of a punch to resuscitate the game’s hype. Now that it’s over, we can say it didn’t exactly deliver a mind-blowing experience, but it did show how each character plays and teased a new addition to the cast....

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has shut down schools and businesses while entertainment productions have been cancelled or pushed to later dates, as is the case with Paramount Pictures’ Mission Impossible 7 and 8. However a fantasy horror film called Warhunt, starring Mickey Rourke as an American soldier in World War II who encounters witches in Germany, just wrapped shooting amid the climate of social distancing. Entertainment news site Variety published an exclusive story Sunday talking with Rourke, a former boxer known for his work in movies like 2008’s The Wrestler, as well as producer You-Fai Suen....
In terms of gaming, Microsoft has had quite a number of ambitious ideas, both past and present. Ever since the release of the original Xbox back in the early 2000s, Microsoft has had its hand in a cacophony of console implementations and accessibility features. Although, not all of the studio’s ideas are destined to succeed, and one of those features will be shut down in a couple of months. When designing the Xbox One, Microsoft wanted it to be the only console players would ever need, and this led to a lot of ambitious implementations, including the addition of live TV listings by way of a program called OneGuide....
When learning Minecraft, many players will inevitably learn how to create infinite water sources. By simply filling a 2x2 hole with water source blocks, players can scoop water out of it infinitely, without needing to run to the nearest ocean every time. This is one of the easiest, and also one of the most useful tricks to know in the game, but unfortunately, a 2x2 pool of water doesn’t exactly look amazing....
It’s been announced during the Summer Game Fest that MMORPG Lost Ark will launch in the West in Fall later this year. For those who haven’t heard of Lost Ark, the game has players defending the world from the attack of Kazeros’ demon army, as Kazeros has opened the Chaos Gate with his six legions to invade the human world. The player is tasked with exploring the world to find the pieces of a legendary Ark that will help defeat Kazeros and his demon army....

Creator of If My Heart Had Wings, MoeNovel is bringing visual novel LoveKami: Divinity Stage to the Nintendo Switch. The romantic-themed game first launched on Steam back in 2016, and its Switch release has still to receive an exact launch date. LoveKami’s developer and publisher posted the news on its Twitter page, featuring a set of photos showcasing one the the team members interacting with the title on Nintendo’s handheld. Tagged with nothing more than “coming soon to Nintendo Switch,” fans may be able to welcome the game’s divine idols onto the small screen before the end of the year....

In a shocking announcement this morning, noted investigative journalist Jason Schreier revealed he will be departing from publication Kotaku at the end of the week. Having been with the outlet for eight years, Schreier has been responsible for unveiling the ugly inner workings of some of gaming’s biggest studios. Even if you weren’t previously aware of his name, you’ve likely read his work on BioWare, Rockstar Games, and Gearbox. In a post on Kotaku, Schreier explains that he will be sticking to journalism for the foreseeable future....
